i have zooms and primes with overlapping focal lengths. My previous camera, the e-p2. displayed this info. It's mostly curiosity, not necessity and I can usually guess but i'm absolutely baffled...

got 2 chinese ebay batteries in the mail today.
charging in original charger:green light, but after a few minutes the light is blinking. pretty sure that's not good. charging the 2nd one now.

great shots that would've benefited greatly from a polarizing filter.
thanks for sharing.

great examples of how not to use a fisheye.

I've always imagined that the L stands for LOL because this is the most ridiculously fugly camera body of all m4/3 models. I feel sorry for any lens attached to this abomination. That it takes...

absolutely love this shot. well done.

I thought ETTR only works if you shoot RAW, which I don't.

assuming that would be the same for e-p2

dark frame subtraction was on. It exposes for 25 secs, shutter closes, and then there is another 25 secs of waiting (vf blacked out). Not even sure if it can be turned off.

thanks Brian, I tried exactly what you described but the NR is still applied to the whole image as opposed to only the brushed area. Any ideas?

fair enough. valid critique and good suggestions. I've just gone through some other night shots which turned out really nice, so indeed the E-P2 is no slouch. Thanks for your feedback!

absolutely. I bought a G3 for this sensor, until there is a new PEN with a new generation sensor this should keep me happy for a while.Sorry to everyone for my grumpiness. I'm not only trying to...

I've used and enjoyed the E-P2 for 2 years. The limitations I could deal with up to a certain point. I think it's fair to get decent to great results from such an expensive camera without resorting...

straight out of camera jpg yes. noise filter and reduction probably were off.If i'm too lazy to work with RAW files, then sure, I'll have to deal with a little more noise, but if the noise is THIS...

thanks. Good riddance then. Loved IQ in daylight but this is unacceptable for a 1000 dollar camera.wonder what the G3 will make of such conditions.
-
i'm seeing not just noise but stripes and what appears to me like banding and other weird artifacts. maybe my lcd TV is dying?tripod used. sadly i can't check camera settings for noise filter etc...

the 'fixed' center column does extend upwards. there is a telescoping column inside the fixed one. Just tried the carbon one in a store. very nice although i'm going for an aluminum t-005 when...

I just went from E-p2 to G3 (unbeatable price for a new kit). While the PEN cameras are infinitely better looking and feeling, the E-P3 just doesn't make sense given the price and the crappy...

sold the e-p2 and then bought a G3.like:speed

button feelI will eventually get an Om-D if Olympus fail to introduce a proper new PEN, but I'm not...
-
i'm not trolling here. If i really wanted the OM-D i'd somehow scrape the money together but the truth is i'm waiting for the e-p4/5 because I prefer the form factor and don't need weather sealing...

with all due respect, i am not pixel peeping. it is not fine noise. Perhaps it has something to do with settings that were suggested to retain the most detail (by turning noise filter etc to low or...
