I know it's premium spec, but a launch price of over a GRAND for a point-n-shoot pocket cam!!!? Hmmmmmmm
This is my favourite portrait by her... Ellen Terryhttp://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0e/Julia_Margaret_Cameron_(British,_born_India_-_Ellen_Terry_at_Age_Sixteen_-_Google_Art_Project.jpg
Does anyone know what camera(s) / lenses specifically Julia used?
I feel it makes a bit of a mockery of their 'flagship' bridge FZ1000, when they steal the sensor from it and bung it in a phone...
Seems i'm NOT the only one who thinks so either..http://www.techradar.com/news/phone-and-communications/mobile-phones/why-the-panasonic-lumix-dmc-cm1-is-a-bad-idea-1265639
LOL, This should win!!!
xoio: "Canon is claiming it has a pixel count equivalent to the number of photoreceptors in a human eye."
A BS publicity comment... But it has already been widely calculated that for an image sensor to be equivalent to a human eye, it will have to be around 576 Mega pixels. Granted not all is used at the same time though.
That's why i said at the end 'Granted not all is used at the same time though.' .... http://www.clarkvision.com/articles/eye-resolution.html

pixelcollector: Is the tripod socket made of plastic?
LOL, Bitchy! :-)
xoio: $899 = approx £530 at current exchange rate, even with a bank's creaming X percent onto that, it would still be sub £600. So where do they get the wallet raping £749 from?
Still feels like a raping!

4K through a pinhole lens....... ;-)
Clever but it is actually nauseating to watch...
worth a grand?
A THOUSAND Pound Bridge Cam - Yeah Right!!... And 8.3x Zoom is hardly 'mega-zoom' as described. However the return of the quick glance top LCD is a nice touch... A feature that USED to be standard on ALL earlier cams, even point & shoots, before manufacturers started dumbing down features like this & fobbing them off as 'premium' only to be found on mid-range DSLRs.
You can probably play angry birds on it too. LOL
Martin Datzinger: The camera is nice and dandy and probably so is the phone itself. But then you have to deal with WP8 ...
What a FAIL comment!WP8 is refreshing, stable & different from the isheep, A-clone masses. MS actually got it very right with this OS!
ANOTHER viewfinder-less Wave it about like a phone camera!! Getting sick & tired of this trend. - It's crap & makes for rubbish photography.
Another Viewfinder-less wave it about in-front of your face like a phone wannabe!.No thanks.
roy5051: Why don't Fujifilm, and the rest, improve on the dinosaur technology that is the 200,000 dot EVF?
They have in fact gone backwards, I used to own a Canon Pro1, what is now a 9 year old camera & its EVF & back screen were both 230K+ resolution .. over 30,000 more! .. Worse still, the Minolta A2, had a 900K+ EVF - NINE YEARS ago!, and we're only seeing these kind of displays in the last couple of years. BOTH cameras also had top panel quick ref LCDs, something that you only find on mid-range & above DSLRs now. Apart from the pixel count & zoom race, other features that used to be there are being removed and DUMBED DOWN!. Hell they are even removing EVFs on P&S cams now, thus forcing you to wave your cam around in front of your face like a soppy iphone!
Maggie needs to ditch the meat-head looser and get a restraining order against him.
