It would be nice if dpreview galleries didn't recompress the Original-sized JPGs, thus effectively losing quality.

Also, what happened to Detail Man's questions about this here in these very comments? They were here one moment, now they are gone. Deleted? Why?

ogremage: I think you should just move to some quality forum software such as vBulletin or IP.Board instead of building your own.

Your expertise is your photography review skills, not Web User Interface design. Focus on your core competencies, leave the forum development to the professionals.

Yes, PHP is not a good programming language.

That doesn't mean that every website should take a "not invented here" approach to their forums and hand-build their own. That opens even more security (and other) risks.

On Pentax Q preview (279 comments in total)

One can argue many ways which sensor size vs. lens size compromises make sense for mirrorless, with probably everything from 1:2.5 to 1:1 crop factors compared to FF being feasible, and IMHO 1:2 (m43) being in the sweet spot; however 1:6 with a 1/2.3'' sensor is not it, especially if as ugly as this one.

It will sell OK for the first few weeks in Japan while it's a novelty. Then it will die, lingering with a market share somewhere around the GXR.

Pentax should have joined m43, NEX or NX instead.

On Continuously in the Challenge of Challenges 2009 challenge (87 comments in total)

a) The first place was well deserved
b) Even if I didn't personally think so, it would still be well deserved because hundreds of thousands of people have voted for it to be best.
c) No amount of "omg photoshopped" can change that

However, I wonder - where was it taken?
