I would also that small tool like a pen, with a retractable brush on one side and a lens cleaner on the other.

CameraLabTester: Test this camera if it will MACRO focus (5cm) on the whole zoom range, not only at the widest angle.

What's the ANSWER?

I will leave that to you: DPR to answer... or any user who jumped and bought this.

.

The answer is no. If you zoom in all the way, macro focus distance should grow to 50cm more or less. If people complain about the 5cm being much worse than 1cm of other cameras, remember that 20mpx + big sensor size gives you plenty of room for macro cropping.

Mario Sztern: I want to transfer pictures from the sd card of my rx100 strait to my iPad withe the connector kit but the iPad didn't recognize the mass storage device.
What should I do ?

Try to press the ON/OFF button. When I connect the camera to my PC, the power led lights on but the computer doesn't find the camera. When I press the button, the led turns off, then on again and the camera is recognized by the pc. You know that by looking at the screen on the back of the camera, before it is empty and after it shows "USB MODE".

Darren Lee: Did anyone buy a book for this instead of just reading the online manual? If so, which book did you buy? Also, did anyone buy an extra 3rd party battery or a Sony OEM one? Thanks.

I recommend Alexander White "Photographer's Guide to the Sony DSC-RX100", available on ebook format (very cheap) and printed book.

I bought the RX100 and now I miss the viewfinder of my old P60. A movable screen would also be useful. What a pity...
