I just tested mine out and I see it's the aperture blades closing fully after the shot is taken while the image is processing (the green squares on the LCD), then opening up again. Sshhck-shhck....

I think it would be fair and reasonable for anyone to assume that any sculpture they are paid to create for any national military memorial commemorating a major war will appear pretty much...

I'm wondering now if Gaylord actually used photograph reference for his sculpture as per the Iwo Jima monument? Or did he get life models to pose for him? So it could be a print/stamp of a photo......
-
I don't know how legal these two notions would be - 1: They would have sold those $17 million worth of stamps regardless because people buy stamps to mail their stuff and not because of the image...
-
Gaylord did not sign over his intellectual property rights to the sculpture when it was commissioned, so he can continue to derive income from it above and beyond the $750,000 he was originally...

Very nice images.
Are you able to selectively keep the red leaves while making the rest of the pic B&W?

I suspect it's actually just a typo or error. Click through to the NikonUSA web store proper and the V1 is listed far cheaper by several hundred dollars than it is in that front image.

The only potential accessory I can think of is a microphone. The current one they sell as an official Nikon 1 accessory is actually standard hotshoe mount anyway so you still need to buy the...

Surely being discontinued would make it even more bizarre pricing.
-
The point is exactly as I wrote, it's pointless if there are no multi-accessories if they are built-in instead. SO just the flash unit, so make it just a shoe.
-
I don't understand this pricing at all from NikonUSA:
WTF?
-
There is no such actual argument, otherwise they would be arguing with themselves by putting the standard hotshoe on the Coolpix P7x00 series and even smaller Coolpix A.
It's an excuse, and a poor...

My main question is why you have a screen protector, is that to ensure the camera retains its resale value? ;)

@ppronovo, what you're missing is that Nikon already covers scuba diving with the WP-N1 waterproof casing for the J1 and J2 models or WP-N2 for the J3 model to a depth of 40 metres (130 feet).

That actually looks quite good. Like it was made for military service. Shows off the rugged/shockproof aspect of the camera rather than the underwater features to appeal to a totally different...

The khaki version would certainly give it a more 'rugged' military-grade or army-surplus look/feel, built for the rough stuff.
-
There is also potential dilemma in choosing a waterproof lens if you also want to use it sometimes with an EVF. I'm thinking specifically about the upcoming 40 mm macro. Any version for the AW...
-
There is already 40m underwater housing for both the J1 and J3 models to cater to scuba diving, so you don't actually need this AW1 for that.
