Worthless gimmickry rather like Dali has done in the world of fine Art. My test is how long I would want that on my wall at home - 5 minutes max'.

Please consider Photo Ninja - simple to use but very nice Sony raw development and it can be plugged into Photoshop. Not free but they seem to improve the software regularly.

Replying to lenshoarder ...
Ironic that you believe that full frame "is not for the masses" when in the pre-digital era they used to say that about Medium format because 35mm ( aka FF ) format film...

Replying to jydurocher's reply to my reply ; according to the review ( still on this site - bravo, DPR ) the Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D the "top and front of the camera are made of Magnesium alloy"...
-
In reply to jydurocher : I must take issue with your comment that "shoddy products" gave rise to the failure of Konica Minolta. If you had said that poor marketing and poor management was the...

.... on second thoughts ... I'd stick with the paper round if I were you

to ABM Barry - you could have broken this news a little more gently ; those ignorant fools paying £11,500 for the Sony 500mm F/4 G SSM that, obviously, don't have your understanding of optics and...

Sony, having bailed-out Olympus to the tune of $642 million about a year ago will not see them as competitors. More like a subsidiary or associate ( although not a subsidiary according to the...

I'd be interested to know which lens ( 4.7 mm F/L ? ) and camera you used as the usual fish-eye distortion is not apparent. Thanks

very good photo - the composition is pleasing and the artificial looking white balance is perfect for a stately home interior with a meandering balustrade disappearing into the unfocussed distance....

If a shallow depth of field means a narrow gap between the nearest and furthest points apparently in focus ( as I understand it ) then this tree photograph is the very antithesis of the spec' for...

I find the colours and composition very attractive - why was the ISO set so high with that aperture on a sunny day/evening ? Whatever you did, it worked very nicely. Thanks

Placed 152nd in the challenge. Dart board close up - good grouping

All well and good but when, oh when are we going to get some camera/lens reviews ??? Is this not your raison d'etre ? The "new" Sony Zeiss 50mm 1.4mm Planar is new no longer. How many "first...

Please take a step back and see the big picture ; anyone that can sell an APS-C sensor camera with a reasonably sized body /adequate lensĀ for $400 will have to shave down the package somehow. Sony...

Kindly ignore my reply above ; I have just seen the actual Sony A3000 sensor dimensions in the DPR spec' page and the M43 sensor is roughly 38% smaller - substantial difference by my reckoning
-
224 square millimetres approx. ( from Wikipaedia ) ; APS-C's vary from manufacturer to manufacturer but Sony ( at the smaller end of the range at 21.5 X 14.4 ) still has 35.23% greater area than...

Replying to Peevee1 - apologies - I should have qualified my "no point of reference" comment with "having a decent size sensor" ( representing a fair whack of the overall cost ) which was in my...

Done in a rush, obviously, but saying "Perhaps the most glaring miscue is that there's no infrared proximity sensor to switch between the LCD and EVF " is just silly when the feature is of trivial...
