OFF Camera Flash triggering , on a small camera ... Nice ! you would think that is a NO Brain-er for any small camera. ... RX1/r comes to mind, I am not bitter :)

I think batteries not working when they did before a FW update, is a little over the top.

Is the FLASH SYNC really 1/160 ???

Why not at least 1/250 or the Nikon 1/320?

Seems strange to me, having the Leaf RX1 ... that Sony would have made that choice. 1/8000 is nice.
and Sony's New RADIO Flashes ?

For me, the image compares of the Smartphone images should be only on how they "Size Down" a JPG at 5mp. I am thinking a FB or Instagram pics needs good "Downsizing" in JPG. So, the SMALL JPG compare is most important. Larger JPGs there is other cameras with WiFi / NFC that is the better tool, imho.

On iPhone 5s Studio Comparison article (263 comments in total)

I would like to see a SIZE DOWN (in camera) comparison say at 2mb, 5mb, and 8mb. and the , 1020 vs Z1 at iso3200 wide open on both. Also think a "optimal" FB size JPG is a good compare. (also good to know)

MrTaikitso: Mid 1990s, I was given a Logitech Pixtura for a project (made by Kodak, and similar to the Apple digital camera). Whilst in vacation in Yosemite with my mother, I took 144 photos, the max it could hold. On the last day, to free up memory to take a few more shots, I selected DELETE, but because the camera had no display (other than a frame counter), there was no prompt, so I had no idea I had selected the wrong option. I erased all 144 photos, including some once in a life time shots, such as a chipmunk that hopped right up to me. I got a close up of his lovely face. Distraught, back at the motel I spent ages on the phone to Logitech support, to find out if there was a way to recover the files, hoping that like a computer, only the header data is altered. (I had hoped that by hooking it up to my laptop, I could recover them.) Alas, it was not possible. I was devastated. Today, this sort of thing is almost impossible thanks to clear on screen prompts, instant cloud backups etc.

I also had the Logitech camera ... mine stayed with the computer and was basically just a fast way to get something in the computer. :) and it was not cheap.

On Is Sony making a sensor/lens combo for smartphones? post (110 comments in total)

At First, did not think this rumor was a good idea. But, as it looks like it is a Real product, I am starting to see how this could be a very useful Camera/lens for any Smartphone. The "any" part opens up markets. and that the Lens/sensor is "Separate" from your viewing device, think about the possibility for a second. Than maybe water resistant? Maybe even a GoPRO kind of thing, but with remote viewing and Storage.

Basically using your own Smartphone connections and "APPS" and LCD. (everyone is familiar with and use) All it is doing is providing a Better Lens and Sensor, for Better Image Quality.
If you believe that the "LENS" is more important than the camera, as I do. This just might end up being a great idea!

And you can move it to “ANY” Smart phone or NFC / Wifi (LCD/APP) device you have (in theory). It could end up going “beyond” just the Smartphone. :) http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sr5-hot-first-images-of-the-new-dsc-qx10-and-dsc-qx100-lens-cameras/

Is the Flash and LED WB the same? Does it Overheat like the 60m? Does it have a Flash delay. or flash delay in Wireless triggering. When is RADIO going to happen. Does it have standard IN-OUTS for radio triggers. Just curious
And easy Group and comps like CLS.
sb910 with RADIO Wireless , that's what I want. Just saying.

I have many crits of Sonys flash and system ... the MIS Hot Shoe is NOT one of them. More so when it is going across Still and Video lines ... that is a good thing.

Does it work with a Galaxy S III ?

Direct link | Posted on Nov 29, 2012 at 06:49 UTC as 1st comment

DSTE grip imho is better.
Allows you to use a higher capasity 3900mAh battery (even vs the EN-EL18) and has a Metal pin.
"With" the 3900mAh battery it's still under us$99.
and if you want, you can use the EN-EL18 in it OR use the DSTE 3900mAh in the D4, I have not tried this, but other's have said it works.
That DSTE 3900mAh battery is so cheap and powerful, not sure if I want to use anything else. and the charger is small, makes a huge differance when traveling.
This is link to DPR thread on it
