My OM-D M 1 with the 25mm will still be in the bag.

Stacey_K: Imagine how small the likelihood of these being preserved in a digital format would have been. Does anyone actually believe the digital files we have today will still exist or be readable in 50 years?

Yes! I do.

In reply to:

Scott Mac: Olympus has dropped the ball with this one. They have packaged average-quality optics into a premium-quality casing. The result is an average lens at a premium $500 price. They should have housed it in plastic, like the optically superior 45/1.8, which can be had for $330, and they should have sold it for the same price as that lens. That would leave room for an f1.4 version with metal body, snap focus ring, etc, which they could have sold for a similar price to the 12/2.0, which goes for $700 or so.

Do you think a lower price raise the quality?
If so, buy the Sigma 19 empty box.............

How do you know? Tested your self?
Sharpness is not the whole world.
Are you satisfied with contrast of the 20-Panny?

h2k: The sheer existance (and necessity?) of an article as this discourages me to consider the camera. The readers' questions here aren't encouraging either.

Have you got some vaccine against positive behavior?

The camera-world has moved on, and passed the Leica M in every detail....exept the price tag......
Even Fujinon and Zuiko are now very close on the optics.

I let the status hunters be happy with their red dot.....................

Your guess is way off.
I have THE Leicas on my analog Leica's. I have Fujinon on my Hasselblad's. I have tried them on my digitals with modern sensors....none of them are stellar.
Fuji have redesigned their optics for the new digital, Leica has not (OK, they work on the old M-9 sensor).

Old reputation is'nt good enough today, sorry.

....and I newer guess what you are doing....dude.

So? The only full frame out there?
You must have slept in the classroom for several years, together with Leica..;-)
Newer tecknology have made APS-C and even m4/3 better now.

My own Leica is a full frame. With a Fuji Reala it gives me results better than any of the later digital versions.

My older Fuji's and my Canon's don't........

Leica is simply not in the game of digital.
Even their fine optics is not updated to todays digital resolution.

mmcfine: I return LR4 and got my money back. LR3 is great and works well on my 08 MBP. LR4 has (may it's fixed) many import issues, files missing, some files can not be previewed on import, I could not import Jpegs if they where shot together as Jpeg+Raw, video playback sluggish and feature limiting and a few other annoying bugs.
And Adobe want's me to provide feedback??? what they are not making enough money to employ testers? I have given Adobe feedback for 15 years and the only think they where happy to accept is my upgrade money. Sorry Adobe, no more.

May be your 15 yrs. feedback is the reason to the sluggish performance? ;-)
I'm totally happy with LR4. LR have been better though every new ver.
