Plastek: Just boycott it - don't subscribe. Eventually they'll give up.

Not disagreeing about don't subscribe, but according to Kelby, they ALREADY have more than one half million subscriptions with CS6. BIG NUMBER

I think Adobe has done a poor job in the presentation of a major shift in their distribution of the photography line of products. For a company that produces a generally excellent set of products, your demeaning attitude for the 'hobbyist' failed to respect those same customers. SHAME ON YOU. I will not spend the same amount of money on Adobe products as I have in the past since I don't think you CARE about the hobbyist nor acknowledge how they have DRIVEN the demand.

In reply to:

mick232: Bottom-line: don't spend $250000 for a print of a photograph and you don't have to worry about it losing its value.

to mick232. He sued because in America, it is what people do.

StephaneB: Hilarious to see comments here from people who obviously have no idea of what Eggleston brought to photography.

Seeing just a picture of a tricycle here is like saying the Grand Canyon is just another valley. And a bad one at that, there isn't even a bridge.

There is a WALKWAY that extends into a side canyon of the Grand Canyon.

Also at the start of the Grand Canyon

AND one last bridge

The expression of 15 minutes of fame has now (due to technology) become 2.3456 seconds and ANOTHER opportunity to market a product.

Paul Farace: We can get very good images of the outside of Russian and Chinese military sites and missile bases with this ... as well as mud-brick huts of Taliban strongholds.
The Russians and Chinese on the other hand will just obtain every one of our secrets from WikiLeaks... And then the Japanese will build a Canon Rebel equivalent so that Soccer Moms and Hockey Dads can photograph their little superstars at play with Giga-Gazillion-byte size files that they will try to email to relatives instead of a 45 kilobyte size photo file.
That is why I need therapy and a bottle of Jack Daniels... :o)

I suspect you might have needed therapy prior to this announcement . :)
