No argument from me on the RAW stuff. I've been shooting RAW+JPEG mostly, if I can get the shot from the camera great, but if not there's always a second chance with RAW.

Absolutely! The kit lens is F5.6 on the long with questionable quality. The SEL50 get you an extra 3 stops of exposure (that 8x more light than you kit lens). On top of that you get a much sharper...

All is good after the lens FW upgrade. AF speed much improved, wooo!
