Hi Sheng,
comparing two different camera's from different brand can get you into trouble :-D , but there a lot of things to like on the OM-D that makes it a special one so here my answer to...

i did buy different no name china ones either on ebay or other sources. Lucky me I so far had all of them working whereas some had minor issues which are cause by tolerances mainly.
The core...

not sure what you refer to as rarely used, as the the core Focus system is still the Contrast one and the pdaf will only work when a locked or identified contrast element moves around so that the...

Wanted to open a thread to discuss especially the way the NX300 uses PDAF....reason is: I have no real clue how it exactly works as the manual just states: Hey .. you have it
So I can only judge on...

thx !
here one image I call "Cliffhanger"
not perfectly sharp on their eyes but it works

we call that scorpion fly (not sure if that translate that way into English
they are LR4.4 processed RAWs with some small degree of Luminance noise (Slider=10) reduction applied and sharping at...

just to be clear: The macro tubes do have to tightly fit to the camera as well as to the NX lens and hence need to press the small PIN at ANY time. The issue here is that this is not really working...

regards AF: the AF speed is really fine when you attached the right lens. I do not think that you are faster with any Sony NEX.
If I should judge, the new NX300 with the touchAF&Release is really...

This is due to the cropping a 2:1 magnification !!!!
The original 20Mpix was at closest distance so that the crop gets you to 2:1. This Spider was so smal you could hardly see any detail with...

and some more little spiders, cropped to 12-14Mpix from 1:1 for better image proportions
a 10Mpix crop at 1:1 close distance but not 100% accurate focus (as this one is way too small)
-
those two might have a similar price tag but are different cameras when you look at some details
To as well say it that way: both will get you great image quality whereas I rate the NX20 better...

the one I tested is on V1.10 and using a Samsung UHS-1 45Mbit/s r/w. I did not yet compare that to the V1.0 I have access to yet. The one running V1.10 is one of the first ones shipped by Amazon...

this firmware was issued for the NX100 kit set (ED I) (as far as I am aware) hence it is not required for the ED II that comes with the NX210 or NX1000.
Its nice that Samsung had aggregated all...

I am not using any AF here but set AF to 90% of min distance, get close to object and adjust via MF.
This is no crop ;-) but 100% image with automatic tone and WG control in LR4.4

Strange enough I am now getting 6 shots before it pauses with 5 fast and one slow as the first one is not no longer delayed so "some improvement".
Typically I am doing a reset after any FW update...

you can as well set the 20Mpix NX cams to M with AutoISO (NX300 should be ok with 3200) and use the ISO automatic mode (I think Pentax calls that TAv ....) so you basically have two automatic...

and some more of those trials with 26mm tube length and the 50-200 OiS I. All images are RAW with LR4.4 auto tone processing. Basically nothing special but trying out the capabilities of that combo
