areichow: I often see scenes like this hiking, but never seem to be able to capture them. Any tips?
Really, if I would have had more time to setup, I definitely would have slowed my shutter speed down to get a lower ISO and smaller aperture. It just goes to show that the scene is often more important than getting the perfect setup.
That's what I love about the challenge of mountain biking & whitewater photography, the pressure to get off a quick shot while making it count!
To be honest, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. That's actually my wife in the photo, and I pretty much dropped my bike in the middle of the trail to frame/capture the shot before she rounded the corner. The sun location in relation to trees was really just dumb luck. =)
