Thanks a lot Ian. I know I can count on either you or Stt for bird ID.
Cheers and have a great week ahead of you.

If the target machine is identical.
Very true. Hacking a software is far easier than an embedded FW.
If Alex is really telling the truth that the hacked I have made for the shutter speed works...

What the heck? Seriously Alex? It should show the 60, 45 and two 30 (I guess) if you select ISO-100. And one 30 at ISO 200. Post a picture of the LCD or it did not happen lol.
You can compare the...

Except for the colored one, I like this series and the PP you have applied Andy. Thanks for sharing!

Another shot of the American Goldfinch

Alex it would require a lot of time (dedicated) to do that. First, you have to know which assembler they have used and then learn from it. Right now, I have no plan on spending time with this other...

No and yes because I don't have the equipment to do the extraction.
Prefer? Working on a FW does not necessarily mean you have to know or extract them from the device. My experience with reverse...

My faves are the owl and the kingfisher. Fantastic series Stt.

Huh I thought it would be yellower than that for it be a an american goldfinch so I realized it was a non-breeding?
I thought it was most likely a white-throated or chipping sparrow. So much to...

Went out early for a dentist appointment, apparently wrong date so instead I shot these birds in a nearby park. All handheld as usual, RAW-developed. About 20-30 feet away, cropped to about 50% and...

Thanks for the info. Makes we wanna consider P7800, LF1 and G16 for some rescue shot while bridgecam is not around. Time to pair this one with a TC.

Oh oh that is what I am about to ask to you coz I don't have a FW file. So Fuji never release a single update at all? No complaints back then and S100FS was a perfect cam?

Decent results. How far were these birds and were these 100% crops? TIA

Here is the decrypted version of the orig vs. hacked FW showing the changes I have made.

It's the latest FW of HS20. I modified the values of the shutterspeed of 15, 13 and 10 to 60, 45 and 30 respectively. Dunno why I can't see the 30 but those are the value when ISO is at 100.

Yep pointless. That is why I am bursting his bubbles as early as possible. Thanks for the reminder though. Wonderful pictures by the way. Beautiful place!
