photo nuts: Watch out, the Chinese are coming! All the mainland Chinese will buy their own China made products, given the recent tiff between China and Japan. The Chinese market is NOT small!

Exciting times. They'll help to push down the prices of cameras and lenses.

China is like anywhere else in the respect that the quality of the product produced is up to the manufacturer. Company's with good quality control and a high standard can produce great things in China. Lots of company's bring their knowledge and quality expectations to China when they build a factory to produce goods. Not all of course.

The problem with some Chinese not wanting products made in China might have to do with they were made cheap for the Chinese market and not for high end consumers in other parts of the world.

Anything you want as long as it's your photo and you do the PP.

NPW UK: I didn't think anything rhymed with 'orange' ;-).

Neil.

Nothing in English does, it was a joke. That's why I went on to say "Show us two things orange".

shutterbug98: I love this image. Are these birds actually pigeons?

Look like Doves to me. Nice shot but I would have DQ'ed it.

lucinio: Bah.. IMHO Micro 4/3 is a nonsense format

Not even close. With my GH3 and 25 1.4 lens I can shoot in low light at ISO 6400 and still get very acceptable web size images.

Otto Fabricius2: I would like to see the numbers of the voting. Both to see the number of voters and the differences between the top cameras.

You should check one out. M4/3's is eye opening.

blosshapperter: I thought this will be the bursting challenge of the series - with all those four thirds (and Nikon 1 and Canon M and so on) in the field.
What happened to all those EVILs?
It feels like we have now more mirrored cameras in the challenge than mirrorless.
After the first DQ round we end up with 18 entries. What a flop!

I think the rules are a little confusing and you are going after newer photographers which is not a large percentage of DPR regulars. Add to that the holidays which has most people preoccupied and there you go. You can have a good challenge with small numbers so remember that for the people that made it through it is not a flop.

Maybe next time instead of going by camera weight keep it simple and say 4/3 sensor or smaller, or something like that. You'll still get a lot of SLR entries to DQ but maybe not as many. You'll find find people here have a hard time reading the rules, it's all part of hosting.

No worries. I'm glad to see you trying to make some interesting challenges. I understand how much work it can be.

In reply to:

Peiasdf: I see the m4/3 forum's mobilization worked. NEX-6/7 and both Fujifilms are easily on par with OM-D as far as features and refinement goes and this is in addition to the revolutionary RX1 and RX100.

All I can say for 2013 is that unless Olympus pulls a magic bunny out of its hat, the descendant of NEX, X and RX will where the action is.

I own M4/3's and did not vote for the EM5. If there was mobilization is was the Oly fans, not the M4/3 fans. If people pandered for votes for any camera that is just shameful and I hope their mother never finds out how sad they are.

That said, if you look at the features and quality of the EM5 it is quit impressive. Add to that the best lens line-up of all the new CSC formats and it is a winner.

OK, but Silkypix (comes with the camera) and LR both do the same thing.
