Where did you see "a tiny bit more detail than the D7100"?
-
You have good charts at TechRadar. D600 is a little better even at base ISO, much better at High ISO.
Nikon D600
Nikon D7100
-
This chart comparison is not good because the focus plan in D600 pics are a few centimeters in front of the chart. (the chart is out of focus!)Look at the dust from handle cup and at the fabric...
-
The "illusion" is because of settings. Only a little more USM applied to D600's images and will look better than D7100's.
-
The Nikon representative just said that they have a lot of pre-orders and will not have cameras available for tests until 02 April, at least.
-
If you are interested in video, I recommend you the Panasonic GH3 from the start. There is no any other digital camera with the same quality in video area. I made a direct comparison with D600 and...

I am interested only in video performance now. For photo I have D600s now, which are very good for video too. I hope to make a direct comparison Friday.
-
I agree with you and anotherMike.

If you want a conclusive test with 70-200 lens, set the both cameras identically, WB, exposure, ISO, maximum file size, maximum quality, use a tripod, use the same lighting, the lens at 70mm, f:5.6...
-
Look yourself at the EXIF Data. I thought you play some kind of a game.Is very simple to take two pictures with two cameras with the same lens, same settings and from the same place, in same...
-
No, this was a mistake (my mistake).Considering EXIF data:- he used the lens at ~135mm focal length + teleconverter for D7100 (135x1.4x1.5=280 focal length in FF). At 135mm focal length, this zoom...
-
The subject (the dog) was moved and also the lighting angle was strongly changed in 1/2 hour interval. And I think that the teleconverter was added only for the image taken with the D7100,...
-
The samples are parts of their charts, not from my charts. From my point of view, the new D7100 is much better than the outdated D7000.
-
OK, My apologies! Without teleconverter and at f:5,6 the results will be a little better. Anyway, you can see that D7100 have a better DR and a higher resolution.
-
Teleconverter? = Slight loss of resolution, especially for 24 MP sensor.Handheld, no tripod? Any small movement will affect the image. Handheld is not relevant for tests, even at 1/1500 sec.F:2.8?...
-
I do not comment on this, but D7100 is clearly a step forward, D7000 is exceeded, this situation is obvious, it is useless to negate this fact.
-
Can also be seen the noise level in gray areas. But in his samples even the resolution difference can not be seen because of all kind of tricks.

He tries to fool you all. You must carefully studying other aspects of EXIF data as the lens used and the output picture sizes.D7100 is not a little better than D7000, is much better in all...

I know this samples, but the author say that videos are with NR Off and without post processing, but the videos at high ISO are lack any significantly noise, and also lack all the details... So, I...
