in this embracing of Bauhaus philosophy they could also drop the price and world would be a better documented place :D
this looks like a interestinge POSSIBLE thing... but my dear editor "This video gives you an overview of how it works:" I don't think that's correct; this video gives you an overview on HOW COULD WORK, actually you never see anything that assure you this is working prototype and not a mock thing. just saying...
putomax: as a GH3 owner I say PANASONIC TRY HARDER!!! firmware doesn't address important issues:
ONLY 10 sec display of infoWB shift at record start weird audio compressionAE lock to shutter halfpress48 and 125 shutter speed on manual videomore customizable options to Fn4, i.e. timelapse
feel free to add more ;)
*correction to shutter speed: I meant 120 instead of 125... "Flkr decrease" mode exists but not in manual video mode
Gary Goodenough: While not a firmware issue, my greatest disappointment is not having a complete printed manual.
I understand and totally agree with Gary, not my greatest, but an advanced printed manual is mandatory. 300 pages is a bit too much to burn our eyes with ;) Say you are spending some days in the middle of a remote location, are you bringing you ipad/laptop (solar charger and whatnot) in order to check one of the the zillion options gh3 gives you? @wood11cr do you actually believe that electronic/online stuff doesn't have a footprint? maybe smaller but it has my friend, it has. also I don't think it is good for your karma to call ridiculous a different approach/interests than yours :)gashô
only if it means Accept Whatever Brain :P
@the reasonmy bad, I'll be more specific, caps for clearness: AE LOCK TO SHUTTER HALFPRESS WHILE AF-ON ASSIGN TO AE/AF LOCK BUTTONin "A" - which is the one I'm interested - "P" or "S" modes if you (focus) AF-ON with your AE/AF Lock button you're unable to lock AE with shtuter halfpress, now, please you try it :)gashô

jajajaja aja aja ajajajaa jajaja
- hope my laugh will be seen as it is: constructive ;) -
putomax: 2 different things:
A - thanks to dpreview staff for bringing some "tragic humaness" into the accepted everyday tech-flood (despite asimov, machines don't have souls). Do - search - more - deeper!!! please
B - Several questions wander my mind, would it have been such a fuzz over a kindness gest/act? would have dpreview "care" to bring it in? why is NY Post view of humanity's footprint so bad...? why are we so afraid and at the same time attracted to death? is it "the others" death less scary? why? does it work as a catharsis? what's empathy? is, cynically, more tragic because of the fact that was publish?what's truth? what's the truth? do we want it or do we make it? why is the story focused ONLY on the victim? why did NY Post felt it was good for its readers and the rest of the world SUCH A SENSE OF HOPELESNESS?!!! is sensationalism newspapers' porn?...
well, I guess that answers EVERYTHING... thank you GaryJP
2 different things:
rfsIII: I'm one of the people who have problems with Lightroom 4 being incredibly S-L-O-W despite trying everything Adobe suggests to speed it up. For those lucky few of you who aren't suffering from the slowness problem, please loan me some of your mojo as I try the new version.
congrats... on both
I totally see your photo herehttp://toemail.wordpress.com/
I think, oh I think I think!!!!
... this seems like a very good product, very useful and the price is more than justified by the magnificent work guys at VSCO Keys have done.
oh no, it was not a thought it was my tech-dependecy-inner-voice again.
let's see, 125$ ja aj aj aj ajjaja jajajajaja jaja aja ajjj aja aj
hope you guys at dpreview don't erase my comment again, laughin's good for the health, AND FREE ;)
in this landscape pic everything that's out of center frame is badly blured; strange and ugly effect
putomax: RAW in this machine (so it seems) is going to be incredible. Slightly better than the K5, which is already fantastic. The only camera with better SN ratio is the X-pro1, and I've seen quite some smearing of details at the former's high isos.Just an absolutely unscientific speculation, but that you know already ;)
"You must be kidding. The k-5 is good for an ASP-C, and that't kinda it."ja ja ja you make me laugh nicolai, thanks!I'm interested in IMAGE quality/usability, not in size.you're still right, ja ja ja

VERY VERY NICE SET OF PHOTOS!!! congrats; its is good to see that the "tester/s" got some inspiration in and love out :P
Mixed feelings about the lens performance; the Gx1 didn't seemed to be up to the dress, the oly was a better dummy. Good 35mm overall and much improved middle range sharpness when stopped down to f4. I just get unemphatic with the bokeh substance... or better said, the lack of it.
I'ld like to see how the 12-35 and this perform in video, y por pedir, in a GH3
both videos are interlaced which is fine as it's the camera MTS output, but IMHO should have been deinterlaced (something vimeo player does not) for internet watching purposes, as once you do that IQ is completely different, positively, also smother. thanks for the collaborative review
pag 22, 2nd paragraph
The X100 offers HD video capture [...]did you mean X-Pro1?
you're welcome :)
it REALLY HAS TO be 4 times (sensor wise) better that little brother hx9v... 'cause images from the latest are quite disappointing. Also hope they implemented AE-lock function and manual focus in video mode... which is the best use you can give the hx9v and that the "new" record button works (in the hx9v you need squirrel nails). For the price they could have redesign the shitty tripod mount. In my experience, the bracketing range is not enough.
