Disappointing to say the least. Is this the best Canon can do?

What a pointless review. Why compare a phone to a camera. Does a camera make phone calls, surf the web, send emails and text messages, manage your calendar, solve your math problems, etc., etc... The phone just happens to take pictures too. And the pictures are competitive.

Nobody buys a phone just to take pictures. I know which one I would choose to carry with me. It wouldn't be the camera regardless of how good it was.

This is just a lame attempt to garner support for an obsolete device.

I don't like subscriptions. No problem. Adobe is not the only game in town.

I would definately not consider a smart phone based on the camera features alone so these reviews are not that interesting to me. There are better reviews available that evaluate the whole phone.

I own a Samsung smart phone which is very useful for all sorts of things, but I rarely use it to take images. I suspect that this will change in time as the phones become more sophisticated.

I will be upgrading at the end of the year and am currently researching the options. I am not brand loyal except for Apple (brand reject) which I defniately will never buy.

On Nikon D600 Hands-on Preview preview (712 comments in total)

My opinion based on these raw images, the D600 clearly beats the D800. D600 is marginaly better than 5DMKIII.

However throw in the D4 and it beats them all by a large margin. It makes me wonder about the DXO ratings.

Does any of this have relavence to real world photography?

Camera & lens combination not likely. I don't think there is an adaptor to mount Canon lenses on Nikon cameras.

So, at least in good light the IQ is on a level with larger sensor cameras.

I think my Sony tablet takes better pictures.

I like the new faster lens and the 8 fps.
I don't like the articulating LCD and the lack of OVF.
Not sure about 12MP vs 10MP sensor. Will need to see result.
If I wanted video I'd buy a camcorder.

All things considered not enough to upgrade from the P7100.
