But im curious, whats the point?
You can get the D750, which is the same size and weight and will produce better images.
Who is the target market for this?

@ Rainersen, huh??
Oh so original and coherent lol
What an imagination :-)
How old are you? 12?
You obviously havent been taking your meds
Go back to sucking your thumb, or whatever else you happen to be sucking.

Francis Sawyer: WHAT A JOKE. They act as though bit depth is the biggest problem. IT'S NOT.

The problem is compression level, which is glaringly absent from this sham of a "spec." There's no mention of minimum bitrate or compression scheme.

This means we're still facing a future of fraudulent "4K" or "UHD" that has no more real resolution than a cell-phone video, especially when there's movement in the image.

Low-bitrate, interframe-compressed junk is just that: JUNK.

@ 0MitchAG
Thats not true.
Channel 9 now broadcasts in 1080p, as does ONE.
Im sure more will be coming soon

Rainersen:
I think its really sad and pathetic that a low life such as yourself seems to have nothing better to do than go to online camea forums and parade as if you're some kind of big man.
I guess this is the only place where you feel that your useless existence has meaning.
In reality you would soil your pants and run off.
Enjoy the limelight little man

True, but in that case, why not just get a D750 or another full frame?
Isnt the point of a DX to reduce size and weight?

Higher pixel density = higher noise. Also lower resolution so i dont see the advantage there.
But year, sport and wildlife would be good.
Oh, and where are all the DX lenses?

Mirko123: This looks like a great lens. Well done Fuji!
While Nikon and Canon are stilling on their hands producing the same old, out dated rubbish and expecting us to buy.

@nerd2
Nikon FX systems are great, especially the new 750, but compare a Sony A7 to a D610?
There is a big size difference between the Nikon DX and FX bodies, not to mention the lenses.
Again, other makers are thinking outside the box, while Nikon and Canon are stuck in the past

@ Dougbm
Canon has a great range of lenses but their APS-C camera lineup is pretty poor.

Im talking about APS-C format. Im a Nikon user and have been very disapointed. Unless you love kit lenses, Nikon has a weak lens line up, and seriously, how many slow, 18-xxx lenses do we need? And what are the improvements in their cameras? The new 5500 is seriously an insult to Nikon users. Canon has also been dropping the ball with very minor upgrades over the last few years. Sure, they might outsell their competitors, but their lead is shrinking

Mirko123: Seriously, what is the point of this camera?
Same sensor, same processor, same 39-point autofocus etc, etc.
How about a better view finder? Better autofocus, metering, Weather sealing, or some "DECENT" lenses to its APS-C line-up!
The lack of GPS probably makes this more of a downgrade than an upgrade.
Samsung, Sony and Panasonic are getting out there and providing its customers with new and innovating stuff while Nikon is in cruise control.
This "update" just proves that Nikon has pretty much given up on APC cameras.

I agree, touch-screen is not a big deal for me.
Its the same-ol camera with some lipstick. Its kind of an insult to its customers

However the timing has made it somewhat redundant.

2 months??
It was announced in November 6, 2012!
Perhaps mathematics is not your forte?

And i never criticized the review.
