I just received mine today. It's awesome! This has been what I wanted many years ago. It's time to retire my 5D. :)

Oh I see... I'm on the south of Canada. :)
-
Where did you get it? It's not released until tomorrow.

Any info? Canonrumors said it's 10/15/2012 but I haven't seen much going on. Anybody?

As funny as it sounds, I use it when I need the extended focal length. lol.

On the same boat. I've been looking at the 24/2.8D as it's fairly affordable. 35/2 is superb but not wide enough and 28/1.8g is too expensive.

Not really. :) Mainly comparing to a DSLR built-in flash such as Nikon or Canon. I missed so many shots thanks to the slow recycle time.
-
Is my camera defective? It seems to extremely slow.

Initially, I worried if $85 is worth it. After using it for a little while, I can say that it's well worth it. Not only does it protect the camera perfectly, the half-case design improves the grip...
-
Great idea but it makes the pocketable RX100 too bulky.
-
Only you know that yourself. Personally, I would never carry so many lenses for a trip. It'll become a burden so no energy to actually enjoy the trip.
-
I don't really care about the camera, but these are very nice photos! Well done!

Buydig.comI purchased a lot of stuff from them via standard shipping (to NYC) and I always received it the very next day.

Some of you are right. It's mainly user's error. I accidentally set it to "RAW+JPEG" so the continuous shooting was dramatically slowed down when I needed it. Yes, I need to learn the camera before...
-
Bingo! That's me. :) I'll re-acquire the dslr and glasses.

I tried to love it, but I missed so many shots in a party last nite that I have to send it back. It's just too slow. Hello DSLR (again)!
