Develop Profiles are easy. I start by shooting an X-Rite ColorChecker card under the target lighting conditions, and then use DNG Profile Editor to create a LR Profile. I load that Profile into LR...

Need to look for one... There are a few here on DPReview... Once you've done it once it is easy. It's the first thing I do when I buy a new camera (which is every few years), and I've never used my...

You may be underexposing with the EM-5 or overexposing with the GX7. Easy way to find out. Shoot the same scene with both cameras and the same lens and what you consider best exposure for each....

Or if you are shooting under fluorescent or other pulsed light.

I can comment about how I expose with my G5.
I find that the post-exposure RGB histogram is quite accurate (i.e. matches the Raw histogram as displayed by Rawdigger) when shooting UniWB.
After...

Excellent and useful post! And not surprising that a pure delay (different from the Olympus scheme) has no impact. Thanks. The 12-35 is much heavier than the 12-42 pz... could you repeat your test...

I love this bag, my favorite. Highly recommended. Found perfect padded inserts for it too (it comes without). I'm not packing when I'm shooting though.

Wait a bit longer, the black body will be available in the US.

The GX7 manual (page 209) says "minimizing vibration of the shutter" and "to reduce the influence of hand shake or shutter vibration". But if what you say is true, it should have no effect on...

Not if your subject is moving or you are using flash.
Only uses e-shutter.

I don't think so. A big spherical lens would be impractical.

How fast is that lens? f22 or so? Not impressed. Resolving power is a solved problem for most photographers.

You're looking for cheap, light and fast. Those three features are tradeoffs against each other.
What type of shooting do you want to do?

I live near Boston, USA, and have an APC backup/regulator. It has switched over to battery backup and back again 28 times in the past 12 months. All of these events have been 5 seconds or less....

Why not keep the G5? Seems that the G6 is not a big step up for you. The G7 will come out eventually and it will probably have the GX7 sensor and maybe other GX7 features. That seems to be the way...

You guys are deprived in the nation's capital... Good excuse for a short visit to The Big Apple!

The GX7 grip seems big enough, but smooth, rather than ergonomically-shaped like the G5 (which has the best grip on any camera I've tried). You can tell why Panasonic had to compromise the shape:...

You need a battery backup. APC is the most popular brand. Very useful, very efficient.

Don't use cards bigger than 16 GB for stills. Cards are cheap, buy enough of them.
Back up that day's shooting on your laptop before you go to bed. A transfer dongle is also cheap.
What if your...
