I was planning to buy the T4i/650D, now I've changed my mind and I'm getting this one instead. Why not get the latest model right?

  • I like that the camera can be controlled remotely with an iPhone. You can place it where you wouldn't want to go, and shoot from a distance. Sports and bird photography come to mind. Interesting...

  • My thoughts exactly!

  • Those robots are trying to look cool using Canon 1D's and "L" series lenses. Couldn't they have chosen a less cool system? :)

  • I just received mine. It’s small, it’s light and the Auto WB is extremely accurate. It nails most ambient light perfectly (even in a school cafeteria). This is the camera to take with you on a...

  • The fact that the Nikon factory in Fukushima was decimated in the March 2011 tsunami is not lost on the Japanese government. I’m guessing they brokered a deal with Canon and Nikon to allow Nikon...

  • Thanks for the wonderful reveiw! I prefer the D800 for video b/c it auto-focuses. The only problem is that if the audio is quiet, you can hear a crackling noise as the D-800 focuses. I pick up...

I placed a large blue piece of cardboard behind the subject to provide an uncluttered backdrop, and to keep the wind down a little. Gitzo tripod-mounted 5Dmk II, Canon 100mm Macro.

Used a diffusion screen on this one also. Keeps the highlights from blowing out and creates a pleasant over-all illumination of the subject.

  • Commented on Mosquito Marshes 2 photo in PaulRacecar's photo gallery

I call this "mosquito marsh" b/c I was being swarmed by mosquitos as I took this picture. Thank you DEET! I was only bitten once on a spot where I didn't spay insect repellant.

1600 ISO is still relatively noise-free with the Oly PEN E-P3. RAW processing makes it even less noisey. This is a sharp and very usable file.

  • Commented on The Magnificent Organ photo in PaulRacecar's photo gallery

The Oly 12mm f/2.0 is a pefect interior lens. It allows lower ISOs and captures the whole scene.

  • Commented on Buffy Portrait 2 photo in PaulRacecar's photo gallery

It's difficult to get a pet to pose properly. They get distracted easily and refuse to sit still. It's even harder to get them to look at the camera. Used the Canon 24-105mm L f/4, hand-held...

  • Commented on Tree at Sunset photo in PaulRacecar's photo gallery

I noticed the birds flying in the backround after I processed the photo and viewed it on the big screen. I love this photo because of the beautiful gradations of Orange into Black and the birds...
