Fotoni: High ISO tests are nice when there is a real reason to use high ISO, but some of these photos seems to have forced high ISO because shutter speeds like 1/1000s are a bit ridiculous for this.
Many photos look really messy even when downscaled below 1 MP, but some have quite nice sharpness for low light. I wouldn't use its highest native ISO 102400, but something between ISO 32000-40000 at max based on these samples.
Do U understand that many of us shoot in what amounts to a dungeon and that we would rather shoot at 4.5 rather than 2.8. So 25K is a blessing. And to be able to shoot raw and not have to convert to jpg when on a deadline from the editor, sweet. Also, to get to the desired iso (40K) it was necessary to use setting other than "real" settings. To shoot at 2.8 and 1/200 would mean having to switch to candles.
For those of us that are R-G CB it is like a gift from heaven...
LR 4.1 RC is out... It seems a bit more responsive than 4.0. I test software for aliving, but I have not done comparison timings, just a subjective 'feel'.
