Never had a comment "eaten", not even partially. Plenty of times I've been eaten alive by others about some comment I've made.

Ken Rockwell doesn't shoot in raw. There, I said it. Which I think is OK because there's only 6 or 7 replies left on this thread so we won't get KR Haters going on and on and on and on and...

Well, if your photography consists solely of "street photography", great. I bet just about any lightweight mirrorless would work fine for that, the V1 included. Is that all you shoot is "street"?

Real active forum we got here. The first one I bought used off Fred Miranda and it was very sharp edge to edge. I paid about the same for this one and it's just the opposite. It's a local sale...

I've owned a 17-50 BIM non-VC in the past and I remember it as a real sharp lens edge to edge. I know any brand has variations but mine was good from the start.
I just bought another one off my...

Those are at the tee shirt shop that sells ones that say "I only shoot primes" "I zoom with my feet" and "The D7000 is a toy camera".

If I was going to keep any compact it would have been the P7100. I agonized over selling it but, really, I make do when traveling as far as carrying a DSLR. I just carry one Nikon body (like my...

Another "I only shoot raw" photog. Who of course believes that those who shoot in jpegs "just don't have a clue". I bet you have a tee shirt with "I only shoot raw" on it so everyone will know...

Back in a previous epoch I was a residential building contractor. During open houses people would walk in the door, not even look around and ask "what are your incentives?" I'd say "you pay for...

In the beginning the "pros" had the gear and the skills. Since 2008 everyone now owns an ability to "take a picture" even if it's just their phone. There is no general perception any more than...

"Worth it" is a real subjective call. I'd say "upgrade" to a D7000 for a big change in camera capability. Get a D7100 in the future as a refurb for much much less than now.

I've been to Marseilles...about 40 years ago with slide film. Looks like you're getting about as much love here as you did over on the Coolpix forum, Andre. BTW, I sold my P7100 and replaced it...

Long thread, full of announcements and congratulations. Where's the user review?

Yup. It's Nikon's business plan to make the next model worse than the previous one. You're right, the D7100 is much worse than the D7000. Well, that's what I've read here so it must be true.

You know how but don't want to. I know how and do every single photo I take that I deem worthy. I never ever settle for something SOOC. Different strokes I guess.

Good for you. I mostly shoot jpegs my own self. Guilt free, I might add.

I know I went on and on about "cropping to emulate 250" but didn't provide any examples.
Here are some from my 18-105 VR "crop zoomed" as if I was shooting with a telephoto at 200 or 250. I'm not...
