Sigh...great image but it's not straight. Such an easy fix...
IcyVeins: focal length: too wide.Aperture: not wide enough.
This camera is dead on arrival.
Who's Merrill anyway. If you want to name the camera after someone try Ansel Adams or Peter Lik or one of those guys.
I agree with you but I like Lik better because I like those qualities of being in your face, saturated, etc. I like being wowed by photos instead of having to analyze them in depth.
And how exactly do you think Peter Lik got the money to have his own galleries, which I might add are in places where the rent is not exactly cheap? He's immensely popular how many other people make shots like this http://www.petapixel.com/2011/01/13/australian-landscape-photographer-peter-lik-sells-photo-for-1-million/
Lol at Peter Lik's work being average, I bet you think Picasso was average too right? No average photographer can sell their work for seven figures or has has their own galleries.
Chadley you might want to learn how to spell "despair" before you start whining about other anybody else being idiots who don't do a little research

IcyVeins: They expect "significantly greater participation" than 160,000 images, and yet they offer only a single prize?
The fact that they are giving away a prize proves that they are trying to motivate people to enter with personal reward. If everyone who entered was motivated only by the reasons you stated, there would be no reason to offer a prize.
However by only offering one prize, albeit an excellent one, they are not giving that much incentive to people who would enter for personal reward, due to the incredibly slim odds of winning. This is why lottery numbers games offer many lesser prizes in addition to the grand prize, instead of just one grand prize. Wikipedia could create more interest and thus get more photos by doing the same.

I bet they spend more time trying to read all those useless numbers on the lens than they spend actually shooting.
This $20k lens seems like a good fit for my $200 E-PL1
I read about this like a week ago on MacRumors.com. The article said Kodak was looking for $2.2-2.6 billion, while the big group is only going to offer $500 million, and Kodak threatened to not sell them if they didn't get their price.
Does this camera have anything unique at all besides the 22.3mm wide angle? And not even that since Olympus just announced one with a 40x zoom.
I'd buy this if it had a phone.
AmateurSnaps: We knew all this, so nothing to see here
The 650D is a nice camera but in light of the competition it is now overpriced.
The 9 point AF was a welcome addition as was the increase in fps, but most of the other add-ons just look tacked on while canon decide which way to jump.
No reason why Canon didn't offer more, other than to protect its current higher end systems.
Yeah, like the 2-year-old 60D and 3-year-old 7D. I guess that's what passes for "current" for Canon.
DPR Why did you fast track this camera over ones that have been available longer and are probably better, like the A57 and K-30 and GF5 and RX100?
neo_nights: On the first page it says that the F3 has a 'wider ISO range'. But... wouldn't it be the opposite? The C3 has a range that is 100-12800 whereas the F3's range goes from 200 to 16000. It lost one full stop on the lower end and gained only 1/3 stop at the higher end. So, the F3 is 2/3 stop 'narrower'.
It only lost 100 on the low end and gained 4000 on the high end, it's 3900 ISO wider.
IcyVeins: I think DPR loves my contributions to these review threads because in this one for example I am still singlehandedly responsible for one third of the posts, and this is only the apetizer, I guarantee you I'll be in full bwon attack mode when the RX100, NEX-5R, and NEX-6 reviews come out, I'll be ripping Canikon and Samsung to shreds for the inferiority and general ineptitude.
Do you get paid for receiving emails? Do you sell advertising space on your email inbox?

IcyVeins: HOW CAN YOU GIVE THIS A LOWER SCORE THAN THE NX210??? THAT MUST BE WRONG, SONY IS THE BEST
Okay I figured out the problem. I insist that from now on Lars Rehm review all the Sony and micro 4/3 cameras since he gives high scores, and for Jeff Keller to review all of Samsung and Canikon's products since he's a low-scoring curmudgeon.
I'm not sure what you mean by shouting; I'm pretty sure my words don't make a sound.
