Only driven the porsche so far.
As far as resale, the porsche will likely hold its value better. But when talking about these type of cars, it's probably a secondary concern as both will lose a...

Fun and commuting. I don't think either will ever see the track.
Interesting take on things, and I think quite accurate.
-
Which would you chose and why? Consider both can be had for the same price - the porsche though used, is in immaculate condition.
I'm hoping I can get some real discussion on this off-topic...

I would hope so!!
You mean like a software package, or a physical device?

The jpgs are really good with almost no need for raw with the rx100. This weekend shot some people pics in midday sun with spotty shadows from trees, difficult lighting to say the least! If I had...

I guess necessity is the mother of invention.
Here's a story of a guy that made his own tiny little camera:

The story reads that he couldn't afford a...

So I finally used the camera connector and transferred pics off my rx100, shot in RAW+JPG.
The pictures look amazing. And why wouldn't they? Photographer (me), plus amazing camera (rx100), and...

Just cuz it's old doesn't mean much when you are talking about the original 5D.

There is the rx100, and then there are the rest that compete for second place.
-
I'm thinking of getting a 2nd one as backup.

And it hasn't let me down.

This is just a fact with cameras that correct distortion in-camera. Many if not all pocket cams that have 28mm wide angle zooms will have barrel distortion, and the better ones fix this...

Like you, I thought it would be an issue before I got the a57. It's simply not a problem, and because of speed, better.

I hold the rx100 in my hand and admire the marvel of engineering. It's the camera we all wish was possible back in 2000. I process the images and cannot believe how amazing the output is.
And...

I used to think this was ridiculous, but what about a 42in LCD TV, 1920 x 1080, used as the monitor. Sure, lower resolution, but is everything else ok (Dynamic range, color, etc.)?
-
I've seen those I think in 30". Bigger is better, but to a point? Seems like sitting in front of those would be a bit much.

Thanks!
Is that a good card for photoshop and video editing on a core i7?

I found this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161427
It lists as specs:
Ports
HDMI = 1 x HDMI
D-SUB = 1 x D-SUB
DVI =1 x DVI
Yet under max resolution, it says Max...

Excellent info! Guess I've been out of the game for a while - time to look up what DisplayPort and dual-link DVI are. Sounds like it's definitely the way to go.
