Well I guess to sum up what I meant is that as you guys say he's not an eyeball photographer then why by an 800mm lens? Another way of putting it that show could have been gotten with a $500 lens....

Moose took his new 800mm out for a spin. He titled this photo the 800mm AF-s OMG I saw really? $18000.00 and this is what he has? Am I missing something?

I did the D4 update a few weeks ago and the D800 and I don't notice any difference in the auto focus speed.

I continue to post shots with this lens on my Flickr. I love the lens. Haters can keep on hating, I'm going shooting.

Yeah Mike I'm not new to the forum and I knew better then to do what I did, it won't happen again. I mean I'm getting hammered for calling it VRII which it is VRII. Can you imagine folks searching...

Man why do I bother.  My reason as if I need to explain is some people were under the impression it had the new VRIII as if it mattered. Sorry I confused you on what lens I was referring to.

I found bokeh ok at 400mm. Not so great any other range.

If I'm not mistaking on a D7100 in 1.3 crop mode the 400 becomes 780????

Received one yesterday and took it for a short 5 minutes out in the backyard. Very cloudy. Here is a sample image. Seems to be sharp, fast autofocus and lighter then expected.
