Up to you. I'd sell the D2x for parts on ebay. Get $50 off it or whatever a broken D2x is worth.

I owned one of these for many years. It is an excellent lens. I never used a lens shade or tripod mount with it. I suspect there are lens hoods available for it ... google around for it.The front...

For me, FX is primarily about nostalgia.I used 35mm film SLRs for many years before DSLRs came out. With the DX format, I found myself sort of missing how my 50mm USED to look ... how my 28mm USED...

No. But I've done that with a D200 and an 80-200 f/2.8 screw-drive just fine. You should be fine. There might be a few OOF shots, but mostly in-focus ones. The biggest factor will be how far away...

I get about 400 shots per charge on my D200.

I bought a used D200 with 7,000 clicks back in 2010 or so for $450 on ebay. It is the best DSLR I've used. (I've used the D1, D100 and D2h.) Compared to the previous DSLRs I've used, the D200's...

Yes I've noticed that on mine: http://www.flickr.com/photos/capa_r2/5364420151/ but it is very rare and not that bad.

My D200 was made in Thailand. It has been an excellent and reliable DSLR for many years and tens of thousands of shutter clicks.

I owned/used a D2h from 2007-2010.The D2h (and D2hs) have weak infrared-cut filters, so the colors are often a little wacky.I'd avoid the D2h/D2hs at any price nowadays.D200 or D2x or D2xs or D90...
