Replied in Upgraded - hard to tell...
AF speed / accuracy could have improved slightly. I didn't have a problem with v1.11 so any improvement is a bonus.
Hopefully, Fuji will follow this soon with a noticeable...

Replied in Oh dear...
Oh dear, bit of a design flaw... I don't use manual focus much, but will bear this in mind thanks.

Replied in Manual Focus no better
I doubt that very much - one would expect a light source as well as a light sensor... it shouldn't use ambient light.

Replied in Well, then obviously...
Well, if you're doing heavy PP, I don't understand your reluctance to bracket and combine - it's not much 'heavier' ;)
I'll use it for both, I expect - with ND graduated filters and bracketing...
-
Replied in Well, then obviously...
We have different perceptions of 'huge step forward' - careful exposure would cover that difference.

Replied in Both cameras are very hard to price.
It depends on what we think of as 'next generation' - it never ceases to amaze me how many tiny increments can be repackaged with different features to keep everyone on the upgrade train...
-
Replied in It's not...
It does sound like an evolution of the GX1 sensor to me too.
Tweaked suggests to me one or two parameters changed to give an Olympus flavour... I suspect there will have been more design work...
-
Replied in My conclusion on all this...
My conclusion, reading all of the available discussion, hints and informed opinion is that the new sensor will be an evolutionary development based on all previous m4/3rds sensors fabricated by...

Replied in Quality design sells...
I like the variety of choice we have around the m4/3rds mount standard. It allows designers to create cameras which appeal to different people.
Olympus seem to have an eye for style which gets...

Replied in What's wrong with GH2 size and weight?
The size and weight are fine, I'm more interested in the improved build quality and economics plus all the other stronger features. I still think the GH2 is the best m4/3rds solution for...

Replied in Whoa, what's going on with Live Time mode?
So why do we need a focal plane shutter for stills?
I'm confused.

Created thread Whoa, what's going on with Live Time mode?
Just read this thread on GetDPI
http://forum.getdpi.com/forum/4-3rds-cameras/34386-fun-olympus-om-d.html
Where Allan Ostling brings up the new, unique feature on the OM-D...
So how is it...

Replied in This is the year...
I expect big things given the E-M5 release - finally a weathersealed m4/3rds flagship for photographers.
Now, let's see what we get in the way of weathersealed...

Replied in You read my mind...
I was thinking exactly the same thing as I watched the engadget video showing the sensor movement... I'd like to see more in the full dpreview about this new feature.
