My Nikon FE2 with a digital sensor. That's the dream.
He stole this image.

Rocky ID Olympian: Wow... My first win in DP Review challenge. Thanks folks!
This is actually a really good photograph, unlike all the other junk that gets first place on this site. You deserved to win.
Allan Gendelman: First place photo didn't even have stockings...................
Yeah. I'm done with these contests. Everyone in the contests just gives the other contestants a 0.5 star. How is it that there is never a first place winner with 4 or 5 stars. The highest is about 3 and a half. DPReview really has to look into the rules of the competitions.
First place photo didn't even have stockings...................
Photographer: Allan G. , Age 16.
farrellito: Such a beautiful, bittersweet image.
Thank you!
Vittorio Fracassi: The image tells a story well (or more than one) to the point that you could have omitted the comments.
Comments are an expression of modesty or a sign of insecurity.
I have fallen in the temptation of adding comments (like most of us) only to notice that a good picture doesn’t need any and that a relevant part of the test consists in not writing them.
An important photograph and a good reply to the challenge’s aim.
Compliments and Regards, Vittorio
Thank you for the advice. I was definitely insecure because I did not expect to win. I will certainly keep your advice in mind for the future.
plainwhite: Poignant and very well done. Compliments.
Thank you!
leo27: Great shot, Allan. Congratulations! VWD
Thank you!
King Penguin: Why are Leica so expensive? Easy........economies of scale in manufacturing. Anyone who has had a business card printed knows this, ie, make/print 100 = cost per card expensive, make/print 100,000 = cost per card cheap.
I bet Nikon/Canon make more profit per unit on their base models than Leica do on the M9.........in the words of a Russian meer cat speaking English (!?!)....simples!
That's why Leica have and need to make additional niche products such as this one and the Hermes version to cover the development costs, ie, 90% of their content is based around the M9.
Quality and supply and demand. They have the quality and they made a name for themselves. If people, and they are, willing to buy a Leica for $6000, then Leica can charge $6000 or even more.
Paulo Matos: Half of the photos here are better than the winner.
But hey, 2 persons think this is a 5 star photo! LOL!
That's why I hate DPReview.
This should have won first place. What a stupid site.
This is the reason I don't enter in these stupid contests anymore. This is a photography site. This isn't good photography.
Cool idea but the depth of field is aweful. Sometimes I want everything in focus. The image quality is also extremely bad. A professional photographer would not use this camera. This is point and shooty quality. And an amateur photographer is definitely not going to spend time refocusing their photography. I feel like this technology will not be used because the camera has no audience or market.
Awesome photography. Where did you shoot this?
How did you make this?
Allan Gendelman: I'm still waiting for a 50mm DX lens. That's one of the essential lenses. How can you release a camera and not have a 50mm option for it?
I don't want a 75mm lens. I want a 50mm because I do a lot of portraits. If people weren't interested in having 50mm's, then Nikon wouldn't make them. I'm sure people would love a 50mm DX. I sure would.

How did you do this, Photoshop? And if so then what did you do?
