Glad to know you like it. I do. :-) It is great to remember actually being there to experience it.
Jordon Pond. I was there earlier that morning and came back for dinner. I was glad I did. :-)
I can certainly see why this one. Very well done!
ericinho: [OT] I find the downright rude and simply ungrateful behavior of some here baffling, especially since the entire site is FREE. So an effort to make the site better (again free of charge) should be applauded, supported and critized constructively instead of being a complete d--k moaning like a little kid about things that do not work and are "a big mistake".
ofcourse as with most (if not all) migrations to another system, a lot of things go wrong, but the DP team is working to fix them. So why don't you give them an encouragement by giving useful critique in a way your mother taught you to do. No one of us can make any claims or demands, since you don't pay a dime (and spare me non-arguments like the few ads here and there)
So instead of all this negativety that seems to be going around since too many month, try to be a bit more courteous It will make the boards a fun place again and the site in general more enjoyable to visit (plus as bonus the DP crew will likely appreciate it).
Some should ask themselves how motivated they would be to please people who make requests in the tone of too many posts here.
Florida Nature Photographer: How do I separate a quote so that I can quote one sentence and respond to that then quote another sentence and respond to it in a way that is clear and easy to understand? I could do this easily with the old software.
How do I preview my post before submitting it so I can tell that my quotes aren't appear correctly?
How do I find answers to these types of questions without having to wait for a response to a post?
The old forum told you how long ago a post was submitted. The new forum tells you the time it would be submitted in GMT. This would be more useful if it converted GMT to my local time EDT. I see no place to tell the forum what my local time is. This is normal functionality for these forums.
I have, now, figured out how to separate the quotes. And the separate preview pane is no longer needed. These are genuine improvements that I appreciate.
I"ve been reading through some of the comments and I have seen a few admin posts that say they may undo certain changes based on feedback. This is inherently unscientific since people who don't like something are much more likely to post than those that do.
Why not make more things user customizable options? Then you can please everyone.

A few things I have noted (not sure if they are mentioned below, as I have made no attempt to read all comments):
1. In individual threads, post times are now just stated in GMT rather than the more relativistic and simple to read "5 hours ago" or "37 minutes ago," etc. Of course I have no objection to an absolute time stamp being included, BUT you really need to have the "hours/minutes ago" feature added back on.
2. This was an issue in the old system that has become WORSE in the new system: Your right hand column ad content frequently floats over both menus (such as the rollover/popup forum menu) and inline gallery content, such as when you expand a photo in a thread for larger viewing. Since these are static ads there is no way to dismiss them and it ruins viewing of the content.
3. OP's name is no longer mentioned in forum summary view, which is bad. This needs to be added back.
4. Previously viewed threads need to register as different color.
There are certain users who's threads I will read even if the topic would not otherwise catch my attention.
rjx: No preview when typing a reply?
Not true. The so called WSIWYG does not show how the quotes will look. I learned this the hard way on my first post since the change.
