To the OP.
To your original question (assuming all things the same) the WX300 will have a better image at maximum zoom. But overall, you will have sub par pictures when compared to the RX100.
That...

Number 6 looks excellent... which hotel is that?

You have a great eye for these. The praying mantis one is very cool.

Probably silly to ask but I don't have a m4/3rds camera, although i know what they are capable of.The G11 wont fit in your pocket, so in terms of lightness, maybe take a look at Canon S110 or Nikon...

Thanks for sharing! Too many excellent ones to comment on, but I love the night sky and motorcycle one.

at 100% zoom, not 200% zoom. 6MP picture, but again, how often do you need that zoom depends on your use.Going to a concert and sitting way back, 500mm lens will come in handy, shooting a detail up...

The S line is synonymous with a 1/1.7 sensor in a P&S pocket camera, why would canon muddle their line up with another 1/2.3 sensor camera when they already have that many cameras with that sensor....
-
That depends on your mileage sir. Ask yourself how often do you need 400% zoom versus a nice close up photos. The sensor is twice as big in S line, so the images will be that much better/clearer....

Hi and welcome.I can't comment on the SX230, but the Sony HX20V does out shoot the SX260. I tried them both, the speed of the HX20V really makes a huge difference. My friends had a SX260 at a...

Hey, welcome to DPreview. I had the HX20 and returned, so i am not a fan, but I know people here that like it, love the zoom and take great pictures with it.As for when to get the camera, if the...

Agreed. This is one of the biggest advantages of this camera. It doesn't look intimidating, but it can bite. The camera is expensive enough as it is. If the design team spent more time designing...

Wouldn't these ergonomics that you speak off interfere with the pocketability? In order to fit a camera in your pocket, it needs to be smooth, with fewer things that can get in the way, would you...

I think you are right, almost everyone did these comparisons. You can get some fun different effect with some PP, but the JPGs satisfy 90% of the need. I find that i only keep a fraction of the...

Have you tried the Sony case?http://www.amazon.com/Sony-LCSCSW-DSC-Carrying-Case/dp/B00336EHCA/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1358274609&sr=8-9&keywords=sony+camera+caseIf you ever travel to areas where...

Very nice test and as an owner of an RX100 I agree with your conclusions. The S series is just that much smaller to make it more pocketable and easier to carry around. The RX100 has better IQ, but...

There probably is an actual graphs of MPs vs Sensor size that can represent what sensors bottom out and top off at what MPs. One based on math, not guess work. It will probably use a range instead...

Is this topic is really off topic?... Comparing the 20MP Full Frame sensor or a 20MP 1" sensor to a 1/2.3 18MP sensor, that's just not a fair MegaPixel discussion any day any way. So a 20MP Full...

Careful when you throw that Cyberhsot name around, the RX100 and RX1 are also Cybershots (they are in the Cybershot forum) ;-) And those make some big JPGs.But yes, you are right. Since the photo...

In agreement with you there, the second picture has good color and looks very good. At first at least, but as soon as you start looking zooming in even a bit, you start noticing blurs and smudges....

Kind of gotta side with B&H on this one and your lesson learned. i know and i'm sorry, i sound terrible, but it's not B&Hs fault you canceled the order. There only so far customer service can go....
