Zeisschen: incredible how Sony just kicks other companies asses with their innovative products.
The fact that they kept innovating up to this point, comparing with the competition, I say they did pretty darn well.
I hardly see competitor's newer innovation up to this point. (compact wise, even premium compact one)
Why do we even have to have a clear roadmap nor vision while at the moment their real roadmap and vision is to keep innovating and deliver them?
Might need new mtf chart to test as the older version with aa filter had blown it already :D :D :D
rallyfan: Poor AF performance is a real disappointment. Shame.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZ9er60UOT4it seem that the new Fuji firmware has made X-E1 AF speed in PAR with RX1. Even that X-E1 got helped by the AF assist light while RX1 did not. So that would mean equally dissapointing you say?I guess 0.5sec AF speed is REALLLLLY disappointing indeed.
happypoppeye: As long as people keep buying them, Camera manufacturers will keep making over-priced cameras...
Exactly the price of pioneering. FF on compact body and leaf shutter, Zeiss lens with AF and all..
Why do I got the impression when looking at it's 18-55kit looked almost identical with Sony's E 18-55 kit? :)
In my opinion, this review really reflects DxO findings.http://www.dxomark.com/index.php/Cameras/Compare-Camera-Sensors/Compare-cameras-side-by-side/(appareil1)/736%7C0/(brand)/Sony/(appareil2)/640%7C0/(brand2)/LeicaDoes this mean that NEX-7 is 'scientifically' better than 6 times higher priced camera?
Food for thought.
@cipher,indeed. I am about to buy ixus 220HS, and this thing really grab my attention. Yes we would see how this thing perform on low light as oppose to canon counterpart.
ProfHankD: Now that Olympus is building a NEX-like model with sensor "steady shot," perhaps Sony will finally add that feature to the NEX line? My NEX-5 does surprisingly well with just multi-shot alignment processing effectively behaving rather like a very smart version of Nikon's old BSS (best shot selector). However, my A55 has shown that sensor shift combined with multi-shot works even better.
Basically, sensor shift takes care of minor camera movements very well, whereas multi-shot is only ok at that type of motion, but multi-image alignment and combining seems very good at reducing subject motion blur in each portion of the frame.
Not that I am using NEX, but indeed bro! Bold and standard setter to Sony. I figure that these type of technology really what digital imaging is all about. It's time that 35mm step aside to make way for the new standard. ( not that I'm against it, I still use Pentax 35mm unit on my bag.)
