summicron: super shot. good use of polarizer. any post processing?
Thanks! Yes, I did a subtle/realistic attempt of HDR using Photomatix. It mostly brought out the tones in the foreground. I tried to replicate what my eyes saw that evening.
Wow! Very crisp, and great contrast!
Thanks. There's a nice little hiking/biking trail that goes along this bluff for a ways. Very scenic and nice.
Wow. Impressive shot!
This was taken near the opening of the West side of the Moab train tunnel in Moab, Utah. (Approx near 38°34'55.76"N 109°36'54.11"W)
I used a Vivitar 283 flash, Removed the sensor and shorted two of the connections discussed here: (amounts to about a 1/30,000 second flash)

For the sonic triggering, I had to build and calibrate a circuit like this one:
http://www.hiviz.com/kits/sk2-du.htm
I then used a little remote cord I got on ebay for a few bucks to connect the circuit to the flash.
It takes quite a lot of playing around with to get the desired results, but its far worth it.
