Thanks! Yes, I did a subtle/realistic attempt of HDR using Photomatix. It mostly brought out the tones in the foreground. I tried to replicate what my eyes saw that evening.

Thanks. There's a nice little hiking/biking trail that goes along this bluff for a ways. Very scenic and nice.

This was taken near the opening of the West side of the Moab train tunnel in Moab, Utah. (Approx near 38Â°34'55.76"N 109Â°36'54.11"W)

On Water Balloon Pop in the Playing With Water ! Use your imagination. challenge (2 comments in total)

I used a Vivitar 283 flash, Removed the sensor and shorted two of the connections discussed here: (amounts to about a 1/30,000 second flash)

For the sonic triggering, I had to build and calibrate a circuit like this one:

I then used a little remote cord I got on ebay for a few bucks to connect the circuit to the flash.

It takes quite a lot of playing around with to get the desired results, but its far worth it.
