On 'See Impossible': Canon counts down to... something. article (1656 comments in total)

Mirrorless to compete with Sony A7. I wish. Probably a printer or something I don't want.

In reply to:

zanypoet: In about three years, Canon will release a super-duper firmware update that de-cripples and unlocks all 11 sensors to be cross type, boost the FPS to 6, reveal previously secret hybrid sensor (ala T4i but faster ...) and 50% faster buffer clearance capability towards near the end of 6D product cycle ...

hopefully or do they call it the 6D Mark II.

Well clearly fits a niche. Those in a 40D (like me) and have some investment in Canon lenses, even Canon Flash etc. This is a very captive audience. So my choices:
a) spend $3500 on a Mark III or (b) 2800 on a 6D plus a new lens OR (c) buy an older 5D Mark II (d) sell it all on ebay and buy Nikon (e) do nothing?

If I choose (b): I am pleased (I think) w/ DIGIC +5 processor/sensitivity, Wifi is going to be cool for remote shooting, GPS could care less but why not. I am disappointed that there is only one cross type AF sensor, seems at least 7 would have been much nicer...center, center top/bottom and L/R both top/bottom... OK 4.5fps or 6fps; 97% vs 100% viewing area; I can live with but they are not so flashy in the sales specs. .
