From what I've heard, the lens doesn't actually glow like it's radioactive plutonium. A lot of times the lens just turns slightly yellowish over time.

The people at Sony online store told me the next date they'll be able to ship a lens to me is around March 26th.

It depends if you already have a SLR from another brand or are planning to buy a SLR camera. I have a Nikon D7000 so I just bought the Nikon mount so I can also use it on the Nikon.

If you're fine with slr lenses, a Konica Hexanon 50mm f1.7 is pretty good option once it's stopped down to around f2.8. I think I got mine for around $35.

I can see Fuji making it. With the successful introduction of their X100 and X10 products and now X Pro1, they seem well positioned to successfully cater to an higher end enthusiast market.

If I have to take a guess, it probably reduces cost or allows them to make the lens smaller.

Also, the bokeh of your Sigma should be better than this lens. However, we won't know until it comes out.

It should work on the native sony lenses. I've used it when the autofocus doesn't work well.

For nikon, they probably used a smaller sensor to avoid eating into their dslr sales.

It looks quite decent for 6400 ISO. Have you tried using the hand held twilight or anti-blur modes on the nex 5n?

Wow, really nice shots. It would be nice if you identified which lens you use for each shot in case someone would be interested in also getting the same legacy lenses.

You can also just use a generic lens cap that fits the 49mm filter thread of the kit lens.

I would shoot first with the 18-200 and 24mm f1.8 lens to see whether they fit your needs. Afterwards, you can return the items that don't fit your shooting style.

I use the Contax G 45mm with a Nex 5N. It's an incredibly sharp lens. While it's really sharp, I wouldn't exactly describe it as a good lens for bokeh though. I also have the Contax G 28mm though...

A google search I did says that the K1000 used the K mount which is different than the m42 screw mount. There's actually almost an adapter for every type of mount for both the nex and m4/3s...

You may get your wish on the 85 1.8. There was a medium telephoto lens in the old sony lens roadmap for 2012 which might be a 85 1.8. Hopefully, it has OSS.
