About me:

I'm a professional horticulturist and I write a weekly horticulture column. Anywhere from 1-6 of my pictures appear each week with the column. All my shooting is done with either a GH2, GH3 or LX7 and all in natural light.

  • I've used www.sfbags.com for my last five or so laptops.  When I switched from Dell to Apple I stayed with them because they make such a superior product.  I use their sleeve case with a top flap. ...
  • Great replies.  Alas, I'm just a lowly horticulturist that wants to keep some simple notes about his pictures.  Simple works but it looks like you guys have given me a weekend worth of reading and ...
  • I thought it was too good to be true.  I've been hoping since LR2 that something would come up that would allow simple annotation in the field.  I take pictures of plants, flowers, insects and ...

  • Replied in Concert advice
First priority is enjoying the concert.  Don't think I want to carry two cameras and the quality of the GM1 is much better than the LX7.  Can't take a prime for the GM1 because I don't think it'll ...

Going to see Willlie Nelson and Alison Kraus at Radio City tomorrow night.  Policy for the event is no DSLR's or detachable lens cameras.   I asked about the GM1 and was told that with the kit ...

  • Can those of you who would use this lens list those types of shots that you'd use it for?  I'd be interested in versatility and natural light shooting but all stills. Andrew
  • Created discussions GH3 shooting question
I was out shooting this morning and whenever I switched to a setting other than IA (Intelligent Auto) to A or S on the mode dial all my shots were coming out black and white.  Did I inadvertently ...
  • There was a post here in the last few days that someone had mounted a GM1 on a Phantom 2 but was only able to get 15 minutes of flight time.  Do a search and I'm sure you'll find it.  There was ...
