Nothing.
Apart from grads, I also use polarisers and solid ND filters of up to 10 stops.

I agree. It's such a minor thing, but likely to be a constant irritation in use.
I used to shoot a Nikon DSLR with the on-off lever located just in front of the shutter button. I could turn it on...

Good point. I'll add the NEX-5 to my list of possibilities.
Yes, I have the fisheye and I do use it for landscapes occasionally. It would be nice to have a rectilinear option, however.

Yeah, I've stitched images before using the 12/2.0 and the results were okay, but there was quite a bit of distortion. I wasn't using a rail at the time, though. I do have one now, for macro, which...

Well, in my case I frequently find the 12/2.0 to be not wide enough. I am looking for a means to go ultrawide. That is the purpose of this thread.
-
Guys, I already responded to this further up the thread, near the top.
My original statement that it was 100% bigger was wrong.
It works out that the Sony APS-C sensor is, in fact, only 65% larger...

I hadn't thought of that one, either.
It has a lot going for it - only costs US $500, it takes filters, and optically it's excellent.
The only negative would be the weight, and the additional cost...

Awww ...
Now I'm starting to get all teary.

If you're shooting with an E-PLx then you might want to consider the Panny 12-35 over the Olympus 12-40 as it is 75g lighter.
The 12-40 would be a bit unweildy on an E-PLx, I would think

Yes, psychologists call this phenomenon "cognitive dissonance" - and the m43 forum provides plenty of examples.
In my own case, I like m43 and have generally done my best to focus on its merits....
-
I wasn't aware of the Fotodiox, so thanks for mentioning that.
I use polarisers, ND grads and grad filters when shooting landscapes (I know that polarisers cause odd effects with the sky on...
-
Yes, it looks like a very good system.
The main problem is the price. It's 260 Euros just for the filter holder and ring - and that's before even buying any...

Thanks for the link, mate.
I already own the 7.5 fisheye. It actually goes much wider than the 9-18 and even the 7-14, even though the 7.5mm focal length suggests that it doesn't.

Yes, that's a good suggestion.
I would much prefer to get all of the information into one Raw file. I shoot a lot of seascapes and long-exposure shots, and I'm concerned that these may not blend...
-
Yes, it would appear that you are right.
According to some possibly incorrect info found via Google-searches, an M43 sensor is 17.3 x 13mm, and a Sony NEX APS-C is 23.6 x 15.6.
So the difference is...

I'm not suggesting that I would give up m43 entirely. I'm suggesting that the NEX / 10-18 combo has got m43 beaten as an ultrawide option.
Currently.
Hopefully Olympus's upcoming "pro" ultrawide...

Hello comrades,
I like shooting landscape photos and yet - apart from a Rokinon 7.5 fisheye - I do not own an ultrawide lens for my E-P3.
Reasons include the following:
The M. Zuiko 9-18 doesn't go...

Wow! That's almost exactly the same shot.
I shot my one with a 2005-model 4mp camera the size of a credit card and with very little dynamic range. I wasn't much interested in photography back then.

None of those shots.
I use the built-in flash a lot when shooting macro (which I didn't post here because it's not really "travel" photography) and when I need fill, which is usually in social...

Sweet. Have fun.
One of the photos in the set I posted was taken while doing the circuit (Emerald Lakes).
