Nice shots, comrade.
I especially like the first.

I haven't done a head-to-head comparison, but I've noticed that on my 17/1.8 there seems to be some lag when I first turn the focus ring. Once things start moving the lag seems to disappear,...

I've taken so many macro photos this year it would take too long to go through them all looking for my "best" so ... here are my "best" from the past week.
All of these shots were taken at the...

I read that link and it did not come away from it thinking that the "friends" argument is racist.
I came away from it thinking that the "friends" argument is sometimes used by people who are racist...

Nice, a bit of personal abuse and an Amero-centric assertion that everone must think like an American.

This pic will probably be disqualified, as it doesn't date from "BC".

It sounds like this is an "offensive defense" that only an US person could perceive as being offensive. For a non-US person it's simply incomprehensible as to why it would be offensive. Certainly...

You make a good suggestion, but I take issue with your supporting arguments, and there are a couple of negatives.
1) Better bokeh - I'm not sure that this is the case at all. The 75 can certainly...

I've read it several times over and still can't understand how it might be considered racist.
Like I said earlier, I can't imagine how someone who has genuine coloured friends could be racist...

Okay.
I think that, like myself, the author simply doesn't understand why the "friends" comment might be considered racist. If I was writing a story about the golf guy's comments then I also...

"But that was just the beginning. In trying to defend GarcĂa, the head of the European Tour, George O'Grady, said: "Most of Sergio's friends are coloured athletes in the United States." In America...

A lot of these entries are not from the BC (before Christ?) era. For example, the shots from Palenque and Chitzen Itza. I wanted to enter a shot from Angkor, but did not because it is only 1000...

For those non-Americans among us who are struggling to understand why the golf remarks have created controversy, this column in the Guardian helps explain...

Some nice shots in that series - especially the very first photo. Well done.
As I mentioned in one of my earlier postings, Hitech has recently started making filters that fit the Cokin-A holder. I...

It's difficult for a non-US person to see any offense in the context of his remark. Given that the golf dude is a European and speaking English as a second language, it is completely natural that...

No, the term "coloured" was not used in the US. It was used in Europe, by a European, refering to another European, who has coloured friends in the US.

Wow, that was only 53 years ago.
To the credit of the US, things have improved a lot since then in your country.

Yes, I do realise that Jewish people are not defined by their religion. But I don't understand why it would be a silly question to ask my friend how he self-identifies ethnically.
-
I don't understand this.
Surely a person who was racist against black people wouldn't have black friends?
I'm not talking about subservient relationships, but actual friendships.
