The plant was found neaar my home in Lexington, MA.  It waaws growing in a stand of pine trees.  Perhaps they require an acid soil.

Thanks Rudy.  I have not had good luck photgraphing Mergansers.  They are diving ducks and do not seem to come close to shore. Any tips?
