DStudio: It's amazing how even on an iPad at 'article' size - without enlarging the photos - the higher quality of the Phase One comes through. The photos just look better (than what we normally see). I've always believed it was how they deliver the color - probably the bit depth helps. And Capture One certainly helps too. But whatever it is, they simply look better.

That the same subjective effect. Same as past photographers mocking autofocus. Same as people today mocking Lytro tech.
Vinyl at least sounded "different". Nobody would introduce crackling noises in their clean audio as a general filter.

Its called the Leica effect.
Or knowing it was taken by a large sensor it looks better.
Or like driving a Lambo in grid lock trafic makes you look sporty to other drivers.

exapixel: I think that the key take-away point here is that a sensor with more usable dynamic range is going to be able to yield a post-processed image from a single exposure that would otherwise have required HDR composition of exposures from a sensor with a smaller usable dynamic range.

I can't remember the last time that I've resorted to HDR composition from multiple exposures, apart from HDR exercises from my Arcanum master.

No. Even people with m43, E-M5 dont need to.
And now finnaly Cannon shooters can enjoy the 2012 results to. Although in 50MP 2015 resolution! :-)

21st and 22nd place...

For a 1st tier camera manufacturer I don't know which is worse, that result or that result being their best to date...

AV Janus: Did I understod this correctly and the de-haze feature will not be comming to standalone Lightroom 6?
Only for mothly cloud subscribers?
WTF?

Actually if all this does is remove "hase" on the whole photo I don't really care. If its a smart filter with at least gradual filter behaviour than i will miss it.

Exactly. Looks like thiswas planned to make people dislike the standalone version.
Now we will have to wait for a god knows how long.

So how will this work?
Do they stream two streams at a given time stamp relative to my head position?
Morphing them for subtle head position changes to make it seamless?

I am still reading around trying to understand what this product actually does and why would we need one...

LOL! Just saw that its $550...
...cause the pocket flash light just won't do, it won't give you that sublime (oh I spent 500 so it's better an my photos are now worth more) feeling, right?

AV Janus: Charging for the entry giving away goods?
Wow!

2014 brought at least 60-70k for them.

Hopefully it was not tax exempt!
I know ussualy you must register these games and pay taxes as a company on prizes you give away.
And if you collect money, 50% goes to the state.

Still $16 for for entries might be worth it.

Got my hopes up to early... Naive as ever.

Entry fee is 16USD per image.

** Earlybird discount – Enter 5 images and pay for 4 **

I read it as $16 for 4 images, early bird...

I'm out!
Unless I find a sponsor lady! :-)
