Is this only for jpegs?
zigi_S: I guess the DP staff had enough of equivalence fights in its comment section :-)
Quite the opposite. This is like oil to the fire!Watch this section blow up in a few hours to 1000 posts! :-)
Deutche Börse Photography Prize ??Whats next?
Henry Kissinger Award for Photographic Excellence?
Baked goat hoofs on a stick!Yeah, what else... :-)
I wonder why they haven't curved the arc a bit outward. That would have given it a more around 3d look and perspective. But its kinda cool, but ultimately pointless...
Cool But FAKE! :-PIts not like any of those people took those selfies in the middle of the ocean, also They totaly missed the question by placing them IN the ocean.Where are you on Earth Right Now?Nice try though... BTW, spelling error in the question DPR...
I had to troll a bit... :-P
Next up, NSA makes a live version of the same gigapan, only this time with your real data, along with sounds that are being recorded beside you.http://www.prisonplanet.com/nsa-to-listen-to-conversations-in-real-time-via-cellphone-mic.htmlThe world just got smaller. :-)
siggo: Umm Sony, could you PLEASE do this for A7R???
LOL!"Dear sir, Sony corp. thanks you for your input. However due to our dynamic camera development policy of 8 months, all firmware updates have been rendered unnecessary and our customers are invited to upgrade to next better product instead. We assure you that all issues will be considered for the next camera update. "
AV Janus: Wouldn't this be possible with say Olympus 5-axis IBIS?Maybe a ultra quick global shutter would come in handy to?
If yes, then I dont see sensor resolution, diffraction etc. as being the obstacle in the future for higher res photos.
Front to back movements where talked about regarding in body AF function, I guess tilting would also be cool.
Lot of inbody progress to go IMO. Cool features to make!
Fine up-down, side to side movements paired with global shutter with a 5-6MP supersensitive sensor. WOW, superresolution! :-)
Very cool.I am thankful he shared his story.I like the way he handles himself and motivates his clients.

I pledged 55$Looks interesting enough! Small size is definitely a bonus here. It also looks like battery life is 100k fires. That sounds over reaching, maybe, but if its 1-2k I will be happy. :-)
Now I hope they will make a future TTL version. That would be awesome. Probably very complicated cause of all the brands, and because many prefer to shoot manual when off camera.
Feeble battery in hope of style but will be adequate for small kits and fun photoshoots.
Useless service...Unservice to human race and artistic expression...
Government has had it for years... Called hired people to pixel peep at cctv evidence.
Hopefully this is only the begining.Hopefuly a drrone wont replace your delivery guy.
If it does i am sure that shooting them down will become the best pass time activity
What is bad here is the fact that they are playing word games or just lying to make people accept the lens prices more easily.
IMO prices were "acceptable" before this info, now they are about 500$ to expensive counting in a Leica brand name premium in them.Bran name that is worth less and less if they keep on lying withou need.
Judging by the result produced, i would label that project as a Fail. Can't see crap on that "photo"
Waste of money, spent just to prove a point of the concept and idea.
awaldram: Whats with dropping the minolta flash mount.
Hardly mentioned but seems to biggest 'News' in this camera obsoleting all Sony flashes.
Does the ISO hot shoe support any kind of TTL as it looks like single pin , so is there data fed over it to support TTL
Come on Dpreview inquiring minds want to know.!
AF hold and fps/af priory are old hat being on previous cameras at this level , You've even reviewed one recently (k3) it's not new and you should be reporting it as expected/required rather than new tech.
Sony has flashes?
It looks to me like the MIT guys ran into a typical back testing hindrance. They took the idea that sounded good, took some old data and tweaked the algorithm so that its results correspond to data.Only thing is, its unreliable for new data! LOL!Postdictive Error!
Looks to me that only works on current state of things. What if a trend changes?Only works for predictions if it monitors constantly and updates its popularity database.
Anyway I wish they would just stop with the algorithms and everything, it just takes human skill away from anything they touch.
