Whats the secret to uploading the original NEFs? They are greyed out when I try.

My 50mm 1.8 had gone in with my D800 for repair of significant front focussing-beyond the level of +20.
Still waiting on the D800, but they returned the lens saying it had been adjusted as well....

I took the path of an 18-250 Sigma for my D5200. Just took it out on vacation (along with the 10-14) and have been very pleased with it. In the dp review it beats out its Tamron counterpart, the...

Sent Nikon the pictures illustrating the greater than +20 saved values and the working +14 default value. They sent me an RMA and I sent it often to Nikon Canada this evening.

I was lead to Marrianne Oelund's post through a couple of sources.
"Using the Default adjustment instead (which requires deleting the fine-tune entry for the particular lens) gives almost 2.5x...

I agree, but Nikon told me they are in spec. I plan to follow Marianne Oelund's advice using default rather than saved values. And maybe at plus 10 (my range for the 28, 50, 85 1.8s and the 24-70...

Thank you for that link. It works rather well.
After the third trip to Nikon, there was no better a result for my D800 when it came to requiring significant + correction. A couple of lenses tested...

Third time back and there has been no observable change. Communication has been cryptic at best. Test results with Reikan do however show more consistency across right, centre, and left. But that...

My camera had left side issues, and came back with af adjustments having moved from the -5 to -17 range, up to +16 and greater than +20 for a couple of lenses.
Nikon first said as long as its...

Can't fine tune above plus 20. I am just saying that using either DotTune or Reikan I get results that suggest an above +20 result. Reikan does give an estimate, and with DotTune I get a green dot...

Mac or PC? I had crashes with the last beta, but the final Mac version seemed to work well. Most of my lenses test at the high + range and there is enough variation that they will test greater than...

My D800 also had the bayonet mount replaced and it appears the the left side issue is fixed, but at the cost, for now, of the lenses needing high + correction, in fact just a bit more than +20 for...

I spoke too soon. I just received this from Nikon Canada:
Hello Robert,Thank you for contacting Nikon Canada. The document we've sent you shows the result of our focus tests for accuracy. For a...

Its been three days with no reply from Nikon, to my question about the test graphic. Others here and Thom Hogan have commented on it.
I called Nikon this morning and they told me that even if all...

I agree its not fixed and it will go back with one of the worst lens combinations.

To clarify: I own the 28, 50, and 85 mm 1.8Gs and the 24-70 2.8. Before the Nikon fix, the left side was hugely backfocusing, easily demonstrated in Focal and a Lens Align setup. These 4 lenses at...

Thank you. Well put. I did write back to them asking what the diagram meant and that depite the eveness across points that I now seem to have, my 28, 50, 85 1.8Gs and my 24-70 require high + fine...

Thank you for that explanation. Unfortunately I am 3.5 hours by plane from NIkon Canada-it would be great to deal with this in person.

I agree back to Nikon with a lens is the next step. Out in the field I do need +15 to +20 correction (but at least thats consistent across left, centre and right) . Or I can just shoot from f4.
