I've gotten comfortable with W8, I use freeware Classic Shell to bring back Start Button and some W7 functionality.

It is a versatile lens but I find it lacks the sharpness I get from 70-200mm or 24-70mm. I'm a stickler for sharpness when it comes to the eyes. So the 24-120 doesn't get out much.

What is low frame count from your perspective? I haven't used my D700 since I got the D800. I thought I would keep it as a backup but I have the XE-1 for that.

Nice shots! The Droid takes some cracker shots!

The immensity of stellar matter is mind boggling! So much fusion going on and we're still in the dark about it here. Thanks for these excellent shots!

I think the go pro would be cool for some time lapses as you hike. XE-1 has better glass unless you load up on non-kit NEX lenses like the Zeiss 24mm. Maybe get hold of a solar charger to reduce...

Tragic commentary on our long term future.. the entropy of the Universe prevails.

+1 for 18.5, its a very sharp lens!

I used to have both but upgraded the V1 to V2 mostly for the better controls, the V1 is more of a tourists/amateur controls setup. The focusing on V series is wicked fast, great for action. The IQ...

The DP2M is very much a one trick pony. It produces incredible detail under the right circumstances ISO below 400, non-action scenes etc. SPP is infuriatingly slow as are the writes to SDHC card....

This is probably a once in a lifetime experience, I would opt for the more versatile camera, the OMD. Also even though you won't be using it on the rapids there will be blowing sand and dust so...

I feel this thread of tit for tat sucking the life out of me like some crusty 800 year old vampire gnawing at my jugular.. think I'll head out into the bright 70f sunshine and over to Starbucks for...

I've found my DP2M to produce great detail and microcontrast but it falls short when it comes to colors. It is specially poor at skin tones. I change the shooting mode to landscape in SPP to...

You're bold trying to shoot a wedding with no prior wedding experience. I have been asked to shoot several friends weddings and always adamantly refused, it's such a responsibility. A lot of good...

LOL, I would pick out the Sigma every time too, when comparing an APS-C to a 1/2.3 sensor. But really I think the D800 is one oTha few cameras that can compare to DPM2.

Seems like too much weight on one shoulder. I would want a back pack for this, there are several with quick side door access. I carry my D800 with 50mm, 16-35mm and 24-70mm plus filters etc in a...

You could try a smidge of Loctite Threadlocker. If I did use it I would only put it on the button threads, not the shutter release.. need to be careful so it doesn't drip into the mechanical release.

It is hard. But with lots of practice you'll get the hang of it. Many street shooters shoot from the hip including HCB. Or you could trade your camera in for a Sony with flip screen but that's not...

Such a poser, she's obviously been to modeling school!
