photoshack: I know I'm a jerk...but why? Is this look so unique people will want to stock up on color shifting film?

I prefer my Sony A7s using vintage lenses to give some character to an image. For me film isnt really that distant in the past.

Issues with my A7 functions.
1) you cannot switch the rear screen off unless you go through the menu and do so in favour of the EVF. I'd like a toggle on the DISPLAY button for this.
2) If you have 2 sec preview switched on then it also reviews it in the EVF!! Should be an option to have preview on rear screen only.
3) The EVF magnified view for manual focus is fantastic. The slightest touch of the shutter button removes the magnified view. Again there should be an option to leave magnified view between shots until the button is toggled.
This is a GREAT camera!! :)

thelensmeister: Actually there is no defence here for the all you people shouting foul of the dpreview silver award.

Look at the RX1 - with ergonomics like that the RX100II would have been the highest scored compact EVER. FACT.

SONY failed to deliver the user experience which they so could have based on exisiting products.

True but its a better lame body than the RX100.

thelensmeister: These are exactly the reasons i wont be buying the RX100.

Ergonomics are extremely important if you want to use the camera for any length of time.

Sensor tech and size is just not enough for me to part with cash and I'm sticking with G11 until the right model for me comes along.

A Canon G series with flip screen, X20 lens assembly, sony sensor, RAW. Thats how a compact should be made.

brand racism? I've owned canon, fuji, ricoh, panasonic, sony compacts, that qualifies me to make the statement of opinion. I like dials and direct function buttons to make a device useable. Obviously you are already used to menu driven interface so you are good with it. You are Sony fanboy with no images to show, another complete gadget freak!

who mentioned G1x? I wouldnt have spent money on a G1x lol!
Use cameras? I've used enough cameras to know that the Sony ergos wont be good for me.
DPreview boys know what they are talking about.
You should link to your work if you want to be taken seriously Garp, otherwise i might assume you are just a gadget freak :)

(unknown member): Canon's answer to ILC? Not going all in on the M as an ILC solution? Works for me.

Bin the flash and add a FF sensor and they would sell zillions.

I hope they do issue a real fix as I'm desperate to sell mine.

Yanko Kitanov: Hi,

Thanks for the review! Good work!

Is there any information available weather Adobe plans to release some film imitating curve adjustments, or perhaps general Lr presets? I don't mean something as comical as someone's film presets available at forums or some more general plugins including poor attempts to reproduce film looks like the ones from Nik or Imagenomic, what I mean is something more serious - like the work Raw Photo Processor developers did in scanning and analyzing thousands of images to be able to reproduce a really good film look at RAW level with supreme IQ. Or perhaps there are some 3rd party options...?

Have a great day/evening!
Yanko

Thanks Canon, at least I can keep my Fuji order in place....
Dont forget all those clikin moms with 5DII's though..
Its like the G10 to G11/12 megapixel job.
One things for sure though if Canon dont release a 5D replacement with better AF soon (ie instead of holding it back through marketing spite) people will dash over to Nikon lol
Am i allowed to lol on here? i am typing this on my iphone...
