Not saying that at all. People are seemingly jumping on this "OMG BAYER IS BETTER THAN X-TRANS, THIS PROVES IT" while using Adobe's converters to process. It's a flawed comparison for universal...

It's amazing how much disinformation floats around on DPReview. But, if the X-A1 gets more people into the Fuji system, then by all means, let people be dumb. :)

Where's the "I don't really care" option? Both would do fine, but since they only offer the X-Trans in their bodies with viewfinders, that's my answer.
-
Seems to me that this is just proof that Adobe is better with Bayer than with X-Trans. While other converters seem to get more details/better rendering out of the X-Trans.
So.... we have options....

I'm pretty sure all the XF primes are smaller/lighter than the zooms (both XC and XF), so I think balance should be fine, since everything says the XC kit with the M1 balances just fine.
Might be...

The same artifacts have shown up for me on Canon and Nikon DSLRs. I believe it's a limitation of bayer like CFAs vs something like a Foveon sensor.
Also, if you try to mimic certain vintage films,...

Re: AF speed... I'm generally happy with the current cameras in good light, so I await testing/review of low light focusing ability before I make any decisions... if it's not improved greately,...

I'm confused as to why it's coming out before the 'X-Pro2', but i guess it's due to the X-E line being more profitable, and better in sales...

It's pretty solid for the most part, but it is still CDAF, and it is still a bit slower than the fastest Olympus cameras. So, on the internet, that means it's THE WORST THING EVER, ZOMG.

I've used mine in sub freezing temperatures, in 95+ temps with 95% humidity (the south pacific), at beaches during windy days, sand dunes, active volcanoes, during rainy weather, under water (with...

@ Andy - Didn't catch the Capture One reference, my apologies there. The original comment was simply due to the fact that users will be comparing the files to lenses of other systems, and Adobe...

Using ACR instead of Iridient or Capture One makes the images look softer than they actually are. YMMV depending on raw converter, and I think it's important to talk about that when reviewing Fuji...

I assume it'll have a PDAF sensor ala X100S, with the new processor, and WiFi. Same body. No tiltscreen or anything. Hopefully they improve the PDAF assist from the X100S though, would like to see...

I don't really use the AE-L button for focus on Manual Focus mode, but I do use the in EVF depth of field scale... I hope Fuji can find a way to fix this, though it seems like a decision made on...

I've seen similar on my (now gone) 7D. I think it's probably inevitable on anything that is bayer sensor like.
-
Not to mention, ideally, you'd be shooting at fairly high shutter speeds.

I'll definitely consider this the next time I go on a trip that involves snorkeling and the what not. I had to use a heavy duty ziplock style case for my X-E1 and it made me very nervous (though it...

It's the software. Adobe makes mush out of foliage. Iridient and Aperture pull all sorts of detail out. Even the OOC Jpegs can be decent if you turn NR to -2, and Sharpening to +2.

Replies are correct. Adobe is a bit weak with X-Trans files. Great for street shooting (low noise, good edge detail for high contrast scenes), but no good for landscapes or anything with high...
