Mumintrol's question proves that he doesn t even know what MF is. Keep on shooting pictures of ducks in the local park.

Indeed it is very obvious that yabokkie wouldn't recognise a medium format camera if it fell on him.
-
This is a medium format lens, you cannot even begin to compare the amount of glass in it and the associated manufacturing complexity with that of a tiny 4x3 lens. Go check the prices of other...

I read that they sell reasonably well, they are an interesting alternative to Hasselblads, which you don't see often in the wild either. These are not really walkaround cameras.
-
Amazing how quickly you make assumptions. This is definitely a price inline with other professional lenses, even rather competitive in the medium format world. And the quality will more than likely...

I think that some of the Chris Otcasek pictures are rather good. I can imagine some of the near abstract ones to look nice on the wall. Yes, the pictures would have been sharper when taken with an...

While I am an avid digital photographer, a while ago I bought a Horizon Perfekt panoramic film camera. It is quirky yet gives great results. I discovered that vertical panoramas can be seriously...

Yes mr the great marketeer, enlighten us with your brilliant insights.

I tried the V1 in the shop, a rather dark indoor shop. It indeed offered good picture quality. And it was obviously very well made. In the end I bought an XE-1 though, which is something else...

> I am concerned about the direction Fujifilm is taking ... I also dearly love my XE-1 with 35mm. I don't use my big Nikon camera anymore, the Fuji is so nice to use with very good output. In...

There is nothing soft about the pictures I make with the 35mm lens. I usually put the saturation setting on Velvia. Only rarely I do use RAW as for most light situations the jpg will be very nice.

Hardly a premium brand? Look up the Hasselblad X-Pan, a cult camera if there ever was one. Still highly sought after, and in fact rebadged Fuji. Fuji also makes the lenses for the Hasselblad H...

It is a traditional lay-out for people who like traditional controls. And if you take away the pentaprism because not needed, what you are left is a rangefinderish shape.

Actually the first one has this description on the national geographic site: "Tinted orange by the morning sun, a soaring dune is the backdrop for the hulks of camel thorn trees in Namib-Naukluft...

Many people here dismiss phones as not being for "serious" photography. I like to walk around with my "serious" cameras, both digital and medium format film cameras. However I don't have them...
-
So we will see the pixels of the phone on the paper? I am trying to find uses for this, perhaps the only thing I can think of is exposing products & materials during ancient photographic...

I love shooting digital, and I still love shooting film as well, hence I like this kind of niche initiative. Currently i deliver my films to the local lomography shop, which can handle all kinds...

This afternoon I will try out the Belair with the Russian 90mm lens. I didn't want to try the plastic lens, so I had to wait a bit for the glass lens to arrive.
It is not a high end camera in feel,...

Thanks babalu. So the "viewfinder back" will likely have a ground glass on which the image would be appear (this would be on the place of the normal film plane), and a bit further a smartphone will...
-
I don't even understand how it is supposed to work. At the film plane the image is projected on a 56x56mm area. The phone sensor is a small area in the middle of it. I don't immediately understand...
