UdayanSankarPal: I have removed the rule of "Compulsory Voting" because I have received many complaints & understand that that it takes lots of time to vote. Everything else will be decided by vote. Please enjoy!
What does it mean :" Everything else will be decided by vote" ?Do voters - before the vote - must check every entry , thatthey are comply with the 1600 pixels rule?In your finished challenges :http://www.dpreview.com/challenges/Series.aspx?ID=892http://www.dpreview.com/challenges/Series.aspx?ID=898... you did not spend even a minute to enforce your ownrules ( images size , HDR ...)Hosting means : work , time and responsibility... It is notan easy opportunity for a self-promotion - as a " host "and a "winner" of DPR challenges - on social mediawebsites...
tvstaff: If the challenge is full can we vote?
NOVICEpERCY , some answers you can find here :
Cliff Whittaker: Cannot figure out how to get a vote go register. I pull up an image, click on vote and nothing happens.
You can't vote yet , because the challenge is still in the submission phase . The challenge will be openfor voting in 4 days .
112 entries and 44 ( !!!) of them - don't comply with the challengerule : " Longest size should be 1600 pixels " . I wonder , why thehost - instead of DQ them - has increased to 200 , the maximum number of entries ?...
RuthC: Why would you need a SUPERZOOM lens for this shot? Perhaps a Macro lens instead?
The exif data has been removed from the picture , so - howcan we know , that the image was taken with a "superzoomlens " ?
Buzz Lightyear: Please clarify "voting is compulsory". Do you mean:
1. Entrants must have a history of voting in Dpreview challenges at some point?2. Entrants must vote for at least ONE image in this challenge? Or,3 Entrants must vote for all entrants in this challenge (except their own, of course)?
I hope , that you'll enforce the rule... and you 'll check , that all entrants have voted ...
RuthC: No, you didn't take this on 23rd November, 2013. You took it on 2nd February, 2012. You've cheated on the capture date! Shame on you! Think about why this challenge is called 'My best picture this week'...
Here are proofs , that the entrant cheated on the date taken :http://www.dpreview.com/galleries/1998265489/photos/2763578/
Summer on 8th May in Vancouver ???...
I think , it's time to inform the school principal about the "teacher ' and his students .Here are the contacts to the principal :http://east.slcschools.org/our-school/Principals-Message.php
sacjib: This is what you call photography, to say the least you deserve to placed so low.
Ooo... another Frank's "student" ...or Frank himselfunder different nickname taking a revenge...
F Langheinrich: Let me set the record straight. First, Delaney is a real photographer who works for me. Here she was waiting for a late arriving bride. Delaney took second in a recent challenge.Second, I don't make comments on dpreview because I would just be mocked more by those of you who have nothing better to do.Third, what did I win? Nothing! I do have friends and they may have voted. I'll never know. I didn't solicit any votes. If I wanted to cheat I could have gotten 100 5's and the result from you would have been the same. The question is, why do none of you have 11 friends. I think I know.Fourth, you say a lot about me but know nothing. I don't have Facebook right now, no website, only minimal information on the school website. Intelligent people don't write about things they know nothing about.Fifth, I make no apologies for this picture. It is beautiful and well-composed. It deserves to be first. Do any of you know anything about art?
Also , nineteen posts on the challenge forum ( about the"teacher " ) have been removed ...And his DPR profilehas been changed ...I'm wondering too : a wedding on a Tuesday ? Hmm...possible but very unusually ... But looks like possible...
JudgeDread: Most Impressive BW composition. Should be # 1. I don't know what happened here.
B&W composition ????? ...It should not be even on the lastplace for not following the challenge rules :1. " BW shots only ..."2. "...Tile watermark on the photograph ..."
Lext123: additional Rule: No borders and no text !!!!!!Your Challenge Host
Why the additional rules , if you even don't enforce ( never ! ) the existing rules ?
Mirrorless Crusader: Poor colors. Looks like mildew yellow-green. It should be bright green and/or bright gold.
@ babalu - please don't feed the troll !The troll ( with multi-accounts ) is the " Number One Troll " on the Open Talk Forum :http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/52341199http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/52207349http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/52342326... and many more .
srb7109 : the image doesn't have an exif data . The technicalinformation has been put manually ... How can we know , thatthe image was taken on 9th October , 2013 ...?On 9th August , 2013 - you uploaded similar photo here :http://fineartamerica.com/featured/gasworks-parks-with-star-trails-hisao-mogi.html
The Mick: Beautiful image that won the challenge even though it broke the rule:
•Pictures must contain a full Exif, IPTC or XMP metadata record, that must match any manually provided information
Congratulations to you on a wonderful shot, BSandu!Pity for all the others who actually played by the rules... just sayin'.Mick
Yeah ...There are more problems in the system : 12 hours ago - your profile showed , that you live in the USA , but now it shows , that you are living in Romania ...
Onsi Yousfi : you cheated again on the date taken ( and you wrotea future date ) . On 7th March , 2013 - the image was enteredin to this challenge : http://www.dpreview.com/challenges/Entry.aspx?ID=716441http://www.dpreview.com/galleries/3632368193/photos/2459038/img0225
