Considering a compact point-and-shoot for concert events where nothing else is allowed. I like to take a video clip or two as well. How is XF1's internal mic? Does the sound stay clear or does...

If you don't need a small camera that you can put in your pocket (men don't carry bags har har ) and you don't need the extra zoom range of the LF1 (for casual vacations in urban areas the 24-90...

I am not getting my hopes up. I wouldn't be surprised if it's just another nicely built camera like GX1 with a sensor from G5/6 and no built-in viewfinder. sort of like EP-5 .
Talk of flip up...
-
Wow, that's quite a difference with new viewfinder! I hope it finds its way into next OMD. the current OMD viewfinder could definitely be larger.
-
This is not their lower end model. EP series is their flagship (OM-D is a separate series). That's why they expect people to pay a premium for it.
-
ehh, I sure am not happy about it, but as a serious business , I am sure Panasonic did their marketing research and know that most potential buyers will be fine with image quality from the older...

The newer Panasonic cameras are probably the best to use with these lenses because they have a rocker next to the shutter button that you can use for zooming instead of the lever on the lens. This...
-
Very simple. It's for people who like that shape in a more luxurious finish and don't mind paying a few hundred extra for it.
-
Yes, that was/is the consensus - the soft or blurry images result from the lens being more susceptible than others to the shake from the shutter mechanism.
-
I know, it's frustrating, but that's the way these big businesses operate. They don't want to admit anything bad about the product unless they have to.
I don't know what body you use it with, but...
-
It's no use asking these types of questions here - the only people that know are high level Panasonic employees and they will never confirm or deny it officially.
I have one of these and it's...
-
Huh? that's the whole point. You get a bright telephoto prime for a nice price and small size. What's the problem with that?
-
GX1 definitely, although the prices of latest Olympus models with OMD sensor, like EPM2, are creeping down there, so if you want to spend a little more, that might be a better way to go. GX1...

It's a great option for all the people that wanted larger sensor of the LX series but wanted more reach. There was nothing like that available on the market in such a tiny body. The EVF is icing...

I do have both. I do not plan to only take and use one of these . I will have other lenses to use. But as a fast lens of this range these are my choices . I should perhaps mention that I also...

Which one would you take as part of travel kit, assuming you have both? Is there any point in taking both??
Would love to hear some thoughts. Thanks.

Ooh , that zoom lever is nice! I wish I had that on the Gx1. So much better to use with power zoon lenses especially if using the viewfinder .
-
I have an unrelated question for the OP. Was it a loud concert? If yes , how did the OMD built in mic handle it? Any crackling or smooth accurate sound? Thank you.
-
You got lucky, but there are different levels of training and instructions for the event security it seems. I was recently at one where each of my lenses was intensely studied though the distance...
