Part of the problem is the D7000. I've used the same AFS lens on both a D7000 and a D800. The D800 moves the focus very noticeably faster.

If I enable it on the D800 it's still there after switching it off then on. Same as the D700 and D90, probably several others too.

and this too:A novel definition of the word "test".I too believe that there are at least 50 owners of D800s that aren't working as they should. But after having tested my own D800 I don't believe...

How many cameras are in your sample?I'm not denying that problems exist. But there's still more heat than light on this topic.

And the D4 is designed for photographers who fill magazine pages.

"A" mode lets you to
control
the aperture, and locking is one form of control, so that part makes sense to me.Page 126 of the manual. You might have bumped the AE-L button. It's also possible...

That's good, but it's not the minimum. In the CS5 benchmark at Tom's Hardware the i5-2500 was only about 1% slower. Hyperthreading would be great IF and only if the application actually uses it.The...

Not even close to a lack: AiS lenses have multicoatings, essentially the same as any coating on a current lens outside of the one or two "N" surfaces that a few lenses have.Coatings don't cause or...

Those numbers on the package do have a physical meaning after all.A zoom with 300 at the long end is going to approximately reach the length of a 300mm prime. Just like an XX-200 will get about as...

It's only 45 MB per image instead of 70. 32 GB cards then hold 400 images and by the time I fill one it's no big deal to swap to the next. I haven't seen a need to buy a 64 GB card yet and I like...

There are two levers toward the outside diameter. One is spring-loaded and can move along a long arc, that's the aperture follower and it probably isn't the culprit. The other lever is on the other...

It was rarely my fault that the picture didn't meet my expectations. There were so many times that I could blame a) the dynamic range, and/or b) the resolution. Those were the days!
