I think I could do this kind of work slicing up images from Google Earth. Does anyone still remember William Garnett?

Why do columnists, etc. keep raving about a picture being made with a smartphone?...a picture "you'll find hard to believe was taken on a smartphone". If I had a phone in a Nikon D800 would they...

The Kiwi adapter tube and the old 52mm Panasonic WA lens work fine on the LX7, not quite as good for pixel peepers as on the LX5 but at 15x20" at 180dpi I can't see much difference, if any.

ZS15 is my choice, no RAW, but set I-Res and I-Cont to high or just shoot in iA. I have not yet seen the new batch in this series.

Just tested the 52mm WA lens with the Kiwi adapter tube on my LX7. Works fine from f2.5 to f4 with 16:9 frame.I wonder if Panasonic is planning a dedicated WA lens. I can't imagine that it would be...

The video was mostly out of focus. I don't think they really want anyone to know what they are doing.

I have the LX7and it is extremely sharp, corner to corner. The IQ is helped both by in-camera processing of jpgs and special help from Adobe RAW conversions. Are you confusing sharpness and...

My ZS15 has a "flare" problem but only in one corner. Panasonic repairs says this is normal but how can it be normal if it is only in one corner? They returned it un-repaired saying nothing was...

The adapter for the LX5 will not fit the LX7 but the spacing from the flash shoe to the shutter button is the same. I was able to adapt the aluminum adapter from the LX5 by removing a piece of...

I agree. There are no wide primes other than for full frame. I guess the market rules. My choice would be a fixed 18mm eq.

Thanks so much for your post. I just got an LX7 and could not figure how on earth the filter adapter worked. My ancient technique for removing rings like this is to buy some broccoli (or asparagus)...

Amen to your comment. It seems that compact camera makers want the fastest lens, the biggest sensor or the longest zoom but have no interest in a compromise. How about a G1X with a 24-140 eq zoom...

This is similar to what I just posted. You are right, the market decides.

If Panasonic made a "superzoom" with a 24-300eq f2.8-5.6 and a 1" sensor I would buy it...bright EVF and flip screen, of course.

I think the compact camera manufacturers are all in a panic over the quality of the cameras in smart phones and tablets. I expected something good from Panasonic after the LX5 such as an LX7 with,...

As soon as I lighten shadows or lower highlights I get a light or dark halo around objects.I tediously tried to remove these in this print...

This is hilarious, a limitation of Google's automatic brain: I asked the question "How do I convert a rectilinear image to a circular projection?"I phrased this differently but always got pages of...
