With 1.01, sometimes it did work, sometimes not. To get it working, I have to go to P mode, use it and then move to Aperture mode.
-
Yes, the bug was also in version 1.01. I do remember it very well, what a pain !

Learning curve : Super easy. Look at sekonic videos on their site.
The flashmeter will detect the flash. Set the ISO on the Flashmeter. Simply trigger your flash and you're done. It will give you...

Go Manuel with your flashmeter.
fast, easy and more important very replicable and consistent. And you can prepare your setup without your model being there. Just meter and you are done.
ttl is...

Shoot RAW. Guess aperture and speed, take a shoot, using the rear LCD, look at the picture...
Shooting RAW will give you some margin to correct the exposure in post-process but it's best to get it...
-
Here's my method:
- Go in manuel mode.
- ISO 1600, RAW, DR100%
Concert with lights and huge area of dark means you can't trust the camera meter.
- Choose an aperture f/4, speed like 1/125.
- Take a...

In real world, I see nothing wrong with the X20 green.
Shooting RAW, LR 4.4 / 5.
Very happy with X20.
-
X20 : Easy RAW processing in LR4.4 and great results for me.
If you shoot RAW, you can't go wrong with X20. Beautiful results at low iso up to ISO 800.
f/2 on X20 about f/4 on FullFrame.
So at full...

Try LightRoom 5 or 4.4 : Got very good result with it, I think it's better than Silkypix to my eyes.

Just trying to help and I can not reproduce this behavior.... For your underexposed Raf were you in raw + jpeg or just raw ? I bet you were in raw + jpeg !
-
Hi Robert,
Don't what to reply that could help you. Just a positive note:
I've played with my X20 all day today : As said, in RAW, DR100, Iso 100, Aperture Mode. I had no weird exposure issue. Ok,...
-
I'm a Raw shooter only.
Here is how I work with the X20:
- RAW, DR100%, Aperture priority, Multi Metering Mode.
I have yet to see a such underexposed image like yours. Yes, sometimes, exposure is...
-
Robert,
My X20 doesn't under-expose like yours and I think I know why : I never use DR Auto. Mine is always set on DR100. Since I've disabled DR Auto, I have consistent results and I'm very happy...

Don't expect the 5D IQ from the X20. But it's probably better than the S95.
That being said, if you shoot in RAW, the X20 is really good for a small sensor.
Pictures are sharp, you can play a bit...
-
That's weird mine also start immediately. What's your firmware version ?
(Disp while turn-on).
-
Don't worry. X20 IQ is really good, especially in RAW.
I'm very happy with mine. Don't focus too much on forums.
Trust your eyes, play with the camera in store and decide for yourself if it's worth...

Very high IQ when used in RAW and post-processed with LR4.4
Really fast, a joy to use.
Only complaint I have : When in aperture mode, changing the aperture value does NOT update the speed ! You...

That works pretty well for me:
- RAW only
- DR100%
Also add +1/3 exposure compensation. No blown highlight !
-
-
Ming Thein is right on DR : Leave at 100% and the camera behaves correctly !
I use RAW and DR100% all of the time. Even a slight +1/3 (or +2/3 EV) is possible without hightlight clipping in RAW.
