... and you executed when that opportunity presented itself. That is the important part!

Digi,
The heron with the fish is an awesome picture!

I found a couple from this past winter where there were similar images taken from 6D and 70-300 IS and 60D and 70-200 f/4 L USM with 1.4X extender.
First, 6D:
Second 60D:
Neither is a perfect...

If you cropped the 6D image to the same size as the Rebel image you'd have 9 MP. Based off my experience and what I've seen posted elsewhere, the image at low ISO will be roughly equivalent. Some...

The 6D is a wonderful camera, but is also expensive. You have the 100-400 so you are already quite invested in your camera system. If you are willing to put good lenses in front of the 6D I think...

I have the non-IS and find it to be a very good lens. For my use the extra money for the IS version was not worth it. If you find yourself shooting where you need slower shutter speeds than you...

Thank you! The number 17 was our table number at the wedding reception.
Nice job with the flower pics. I like numbers 2 and 10 best.

Seeing the recent black and white post I wanted to share some of my recent B&W images.

No 2 Wider Perspective
f/16 25 seconds
No 3 Wedding Reception

Red Bicycle Weldment
70mm f/4 1/250 ISO 200
I also have one more below that I'll post, but do not want considered for any challenge awards. I took this with a 6D at a baseball game recently.

Looks good to me. I think some black and whites look good with more contrast than a typical color image.

Nice framing, your image is definitely better from the low angle than if you shot from higher.

Great shots. The Zeiss 25 still appears to be a bit in the shadow of the 21 Distagon.

I like No 9 the best. Why such a big f number though? f/8 should still be quite sharp and would let you get the ISO down quite a ways.

HoyaND400 is quite well received. I have one, but have not been able to put it through the paces yet. The shot below isn't great, but does show the possibilities seeing that all of the cars are...

I've recently gone full frame with the 6D so I haven't been shooting APS-C much lately, but forum birder Karl Mohr showed me a local hot spot and I came away with this great blue heron with the...

From my experience the 28 on a 60D typically only has objectionable levels of CA in high contrast situations. I had to clean it up in the following shot.
If you use it for a lot of landscape type...

If you shoot a portrait at 24mm or 35mm lens from up close you'll end up whatever is closest to the camera being enlarged.
Typically you'll get big noses.
Do you have a zoom lens you could try out...

One more comment -- "L" lenses are no magic tonic for bad photos. If 18-55 or 55-250 photos are poor it is unlikely using "L" lenses will suddenly make those same bad photos magical.
If someone...

"L" uses do bring some unique things to the table. Generally speaking, they have very good build quality, good image quality, and some generally nice features like ring USM autofocus with full...
